Posted July 10, 201213 yr comment_5509780 More Mocho Cota greatness from Sonora, probably the best of the three matches I've nominated. I'm digging Reyes a bunch, too. He is a weird sort of worker, as he is feuding with Cota, and is really good at getting over how pissed he is at Cota, but whenever they square off, his first instinct is always to go to the mat or throw armdrags. Weird, but he is really good on the mat and throwing armdrags, so I don't really mind. Zavala is really fun as Cota's enforcer. He his this crazy move where he lifts Climax like he's doing a chokeslam, but then he catches him under his arm and chucks him headfirst into the turnbuckles. Looked like something Mark Henry should be doing to Rey when they come back. Cota is great stalling and stooging in the first half of the match, and then really cranks things up with the brawling in the second half. He's a great puncher, but also a guy with a really nice variety of punches. Jabs, big haymakers, uppercuts, and consistently one of the best sucker punchers in wrestling ever. At one point, he drops Climax with basically the most violent FU ever. Finish is maybe a touch abrupt, but I wasn't bothered so much. Nomination.
July 22, 201312 yr comment_5552757 This was fucking awesome. Zavala chucking technicos into the turnbuckle with one arm. Sweet matwork to start the match. Really neat ending to end the 3rd fall. Easy nomination and we need to find a way to get a better VQ copy of this match.
July 22, 201312 yr comment_5552760 Yeah this is in for sure. I want all of the Loco Zavala, and am bummed this is the only Zavala. Really liked the opening match exchanges which were really fast. Really neat discovery
July 22, 201312 yr comment_5552764 Loco Zavala was a great lucha heavyweight here just throwing around tecnicos while bumping hard. Mocho looked like a poor man's Emilio here and that is a compliment. Climax was damn fun here also and this is a nomination.
