Posted July 12, 201213 yr comment_5510024 DISC #2 10/4/80 - 37:00 Rose/Oliver Cortez - Boyd/Popovitch/Joe Lightfoot 2/3 - Already reviewed 10/11/80 - 47:00 Boyd/Rose 2/3 - This had its moments -- some nifty uppercut flurries from Boyd, Buddy tearing up Boyd's stitched forehead, good endings to the falls -- but god did it drag overall. Boyd wrestled most of the match on top, and he just wasn't interesting working holds. Anytime a match prompts several brief naps, I take it as a sign. No vote. 10/25/80 - 33:00 Boyd/Rose 2/3 - Match did not appear on my disc, but I'll watch it on Will's Buddy comp.
July 13, 201213 yr comment_5510037 I watched the 10/11 Boyd match the other day and it's probably the worst "major" Buddy match from the era. It's not terrible by any means, but extremely slow moving and you get the feeling at times that Boyd is to gassed to even stand.
