First fall wasn't out of this world out of the gate but the arm work was pretty good and Buddy in particular worked some nice spots with it. DK takes over on him with a side suplex and Rose takes the Buddy bump to the floor. He sells his ass off out their AWA style while Assassin keeps him at bay with headbutts. They end up running a really slick rope running spot, with Curt hitting the big Axe coming off the ropes for the first fall.

 

Curt starts off the second fall in control with a headlock but gets suplexed and the heels take over. Hennig sells really well here and the heels offense looks very sharp and nasty. Curt takes a huge bump off of an Assassin dropkick and DK launches with a slam, but Curt follows up by chucking DK ten feet in the air. It looks like Hennig is going to make a run and they have a great recovery moment as DK jumps up from a minor flub with a sick drop toehold and then he finishes Hennig off with a brutal looking diving knee.

 

Final fall is hot and features some solid work. Buddy hits a great dropkick at one point. DK goes for a flying dropkick and whacks the Assassin. Buddy quick pitches Dynamite to the floor and the faces succeed with the dropkick spot but Assassin collapses on Buddy for the fall.

 

Finish was kind of weak in execution and there other match is better. But this feels like a match that was worked well enough over all and was a departure from their first match as well.

Thought the opening armwork went on a little long, but the first fall built to a nice climax as Dylan described. The second fall featured an impressive comeback by the heels, with DK's offense looking particularly nasty. I really liked the drop toehold cutoff spot, and DK's knee drop off the top was a truly impressive finisher. Third fall was all action and went to an actual finish, even if the execution will strike some as iffy. Overall, the match was more a solid, well-worked build than a blowaway top-of-the-ballot contender. But I second the nomination.
