Posted July 14, 201213 yr comment_5510155 This is a match from somewhere other than the Portland Sports Arena so it has a different feel from most other PNW bouts. Buddy does some fun stuff and mask stealing teases while working a headscissors early. Assassin really works over time bumping and moving around to make Strongbow's shit look good. Buddy is to obsessed with the mask and the heels end up opening up on him. Gotta love Buddy coming back with a big airplane spin on DK and then tumbling wildly to the floor. Buddy is still in peril and Assassin works a chinlock on him but the crowd is so into it it's not a heat killer. Buddy hits a knee cracker and a kip up, then gets the knees up on a splash attempt from Assassin and makes the tag. Wherever they are the building is packed and loud as fuck as Strongbow runs through a comeback, including spot where Assassin knocks DK off the rope. Strongbow whiffs on a dropkick though and goes FIP himself. Strongbow is not as compelling in the role as Buddy, but even with the heels working a bearhug he is not awful either and I found this segment to be fairly interesting. It goes on too long, but people in the crowd doing the racist as fuck "wawawawa Indian cry" to try and power up Strongbow keeps it from being to broing nad man does the place go insane for the hot tag to Buddy. Sweet finish as Buddy atomic drops DK out of the ring, but DK had made a blind tag. Rose turns around into a splash from the Assassin but rolls through for the fall. I think the unique setting helps this one out a lot, but it is a good match in it's own right.
February 22, 201312 yr comment_5536574 It was cool to see them in a different arena but good lord the announcing was awful. I didn't like this as much as Dylan, mainly because I lost interest when Strongbow was in the ring instead of Buddy. I liked all the usual Buddy touches -- the mask ripping, the kip up, the airplane spin. But Strongbow in peril seemed to last forever. Then the finish was pretty neat, especially coming five days after Buddy and Henning lost the belts on a blind-tag sequence. This didn't engage me enough for a yes vote, though I don't think it would be an embarrassment on the set or anything.
