Posted July 14, 201213 yr comment_5510157 Opening moments of this ruled as you've got Hennig running through dropkicks on everyone, then DK wipes his own partner out and of course the faces connect on a similar spot to a huge pop. The heels all took some really big time bumps and I enjoy Buddy as the fired up babyface pumped to whip ass. Buddy gets kicked in the nuts by Oliver and after a brief period they do the airplane spin spot to set up the hot tag. Billy Jack hits a big splash off the top for a near fall on the Assassin. Billy Jack hits a huge press on DK, but misses a follow up diving fist drop and the heels take the first fall. Billy Jack was busted open in the first fall and the heels target it in the second fall. Again I must note that DK has the sickest knee drops around. Pretty good stuff and Assassin decks Billy Jack with a sick vertical dropkick. Hot tag was well built to and Hennig came in on fire with Assassin bumping big time for him. Hennig corner charged but smacked the steel and Assassin whacked him with the crawling headbutt. Cool spot with the Assassin tossing Curt up face first from a body slam position with Hennig splatting on the mat. DK hits a nice butterfly suplex for a near fall but Curt turns the tide and Buddy comes in. Buddy goes for a superplex but gets yanked off from behind. Kind of a weak finish as Oliver gets busted using an illegal thumb strike to the throat. Fun start to the third fall as Buddy starts to tape up his thumb to counter Oliver and sure enough he gets the first shot with it. Cool spot with Buddy tagging out to Curt and Oliver running right into a dropkick. Everyone brawls out of the ring other than Hennig/DK who run through some nice stuff before Hennig hits a huge belly to back for the fall. This was LONNNNNG, but otherwise another good Portland match.

They had to fill too much time, so it really dragged at points. They went triple face-in-peril in the second fall, with the Billy Jack section feeling particularly one-note. The Henning and Buddy segments popped better, but even then, the babyfaces never really gained the advantage. And the DQ finish fell flat. I liked the Buddy thumb taping in the third fall and the decisive finish for the returning Henning. Though it looked like Dynamite ran up the ropes solely to take the finishing superplex. Enough good stuff here to put it on the set, but it probably won't finish high for me.
