Posted July 17, 201213 yr comment_5510425 The actual date on this is 8/25/84. This was a really fun and intense brawl. The entrances and pre-match staredowns are really good in this. Piper leaves the ring when the bell rings and comes back in to fight. They throw some really stiff strikes and Piper bumps all over the place. The crowd is really into this as well. Piper does his signature eye poke on Snuka and stiffs the hell out of him with punches. Snuka fights back and Piper bumps wildly some more. There's one crazy spot where Piper is swung into the rope but gets caught neck and throat first with Snuka just pounding on him. They go to the floor and Snuka rams Piper into the ring post and bloodies him with a chair. Piper bleeds everywhere. Snuka puts him back in the ring and goes for a top rope crossbody. Piper catches him and hot shots him on the ropes really violently and Snuka takes an insane bump on the ropes and back first onto the apron to the floor. Roddy wins the match by count-out but continues to assault Snuka this time with a chair to his back several times. Snuka is stretchered out after the match with a crazed and bloody Piper going nuts. This was really intense and had a great finish with a good angle to follow it.

June 20Jun 20 comment_6031522 RODDY PIPER vs JIMMY SNUKA (08/25/1984; WWF MSG; New York, NY; 00:14:23) - Piper wants to leave the arena but goes back to the ring. Piper war call and they start attacking each other. Snuka chops him down and he begs off. Snuka keeps up the attack. Piper goes to his old standby… poked him in the eye. Snuka can’t see so Piper keeps punching him in the face. Jimmy chest chops Piper over the top rope and the crowd is blowing the roof off. Snuka in the ring hooks on a sleeper. Piper gets to the ropes, Jimmy won’t break so they roll out and Piper rams him into the apron. Jimmy responds by ramming Piper in the steel rail. Piper tried using a chair but Jimmy blocks and rams Piper into the chair. Now Piper is busted open. The crowd is going nuts the entire time. Jimmy keeps attacking the cut and caps it off with a big headbutt. What the hell???? Piper semi-catches Snuka coming off the top and stun guns him on the top rope and Jimmy falls out of the ring. Jimmy is counted out and motionless on the floor. Piper brutalizes him with a chair. Piper leaves a bloody mess. Snuka is stretchered out. The entire thing is a STRONG NOMINATION.
