Posted July 18, 201213 yr comment_5510461 Corporal Kirchner v. Goldie Rogers We have this already Bad News Allen/Great Gama promo Makhan Singh/Jerry Morrow v. Hiro Hase/Vietcong Express 2 The opening to this is very similar to the opening of their other match though this is in full. Lots of fun leg work by the babyfaces, including some cool leg locks and a sick diving knee. Eventually the heels take over with Singh's punches on Hase, cutting off the ring on him in the process. Morrow uses his tape around the wrist spot to which Hase sells the fuck out of. Strange to see Hase just stroll over for the tag, but Morrow immediately sticks it to the VC when he comes in. Lots of fun offense from the heels including a great looking Singh powerslam and a good Morrow splash. Again the peril section is just sort of blown off for a tag. Hase comes in and KILLS Morrow with a lariat. Hase his a tombstone and a splash off the top but the pin gets broken up. Hase goes to run the ropes and the VC pulls down the top rope so he goes crashing to the floor. Hase takes a piledriver on the floor and gets counted out. Strange finish to a solid match that was not as good as the other match. Eh. Singh/Morrow promo. Singh says VC is with them now. Bruce Hart/Brian Pillman/Chris Benoit v. Jason The Terrible/Great Gama/Zodiac JIP at roughly ten minutes. This is an elimination tag with NJPW style elimination rules. This starts off with Benoit in peril and taking some nasty shit. The heels end up taking over on Bruce after he gets in some nice stuff and Jason hits a nice run of elbows before whiffing on the last. The heels are really laying it in tight on Bruce and I continue to like Jason's offense. Bruce is getting choked out and as the faces come in to try and stop them Jason is holding court throwing headbutts. Actually a cool hot tag to Benoit who comes in fast and furious. Awesome elimination for Benoit as he misses a diving headbutt on Gama, Jason hits a diving headbutt on him and then Gama crawls on top for the elimination. Pillman comes in pissed off about the circumstances of the last finish which makes him easy prey for Jason who hits a sick elbow drop for a near fall. Great spot as Pillman hits a dropkick and lunges for a tag but gets cut off and just flails backwards. Another great spot with Gama getting caught with a suplex and Pillman goes for the hot tag and gets cut off. Then another great elimination as Pillman and Zodiac go careening wildly over the top. Bruce is alone and hits his hooking clothesline and a great elbow drop but he is overmatched. Heels are kicking his ass including a cool looking shoulder tackle from Jason. The heels are just picking him apart physically and to Bruce's credit he plays a good beaten man. Jason hits a great across the ring headbutt but Bruce gets his foot on the rope. Gama gets tripped by Hase coming off the rope which allows Bruce to pop the remaining heels over the top for the finish. This is about 2/3rds of the match and thus deserves a serious look as it was good stuff. Karachi Vice post-match promo. Gama is not pleased. BIff Wellington v. Stavros Glalelis Quick match with Stavros winning. Basically okay but nothing special. Makhan Singh promo with the Bruins Jersey on. Goldie Rogers/Vietcong v. Chris Benoit/Johnny Smith The opening exchanges of this are perfectly respectable, but nothing that really hits you hard. When Rogers slips in the knee to the back on Smith the match gets more of a purpose to it and becomes more enjoyable. Nothing outrageous, but solid heel work and Smith was good in peril role. The ref misses the tag but lets it stand anyhow and Benoit comes in and is all Benoity. Benoit hits a tombstone and a huge diving headbutt but the pin gets broken up. Dosey do spot and the babyfaces win with a roll up. Pretty decent all tings considered but shy of a nomination. Zodiac/Jason Star Wars promo Owen promo Zodiac v. Corporal Kirchner This might be the same match as before. I'm too lazy to look it up. Anyhow this is what it is and is followed by a cocaine fueled Kirchner promo Brian Pillman/Bruce Hart v. Jerry Morrow/Makhan Singh We have this already, but this is a more complete version as we get a big chunk of the face shine with both heels bumping all over the place. Thing get really fun as the heels cut off the ring on Pillman and are choking him out and working him over. I loved Morrow using the rope barricade to choke him. Great backslide hope spot that gets a massive pop. I also liked all the heel offense, especially Singh's lariat and powerslam and Morrow's big splash off the top. Pillman comes back off of a really cool rope running spot and hot tags to Bruce. MOrrow ends up getting bumped into the ref and Singh. Bruce hits his finish on Singh at the same time Morrow was on top of Pillman and we get the stupid double finish. As a result the belts got held up. Kind of a silly finish, but this is a significant match and this seems like enough to merit a closer look, if not inclusion. Only going low end, because those details are murky. Great Gama v. Hiro Hase I really wanted to like this, but this really did not connect to me. I thought the transition were really flat. Hase had some nice offense, but that's going to be the case in any Hase match. The best parts of this were the absurd calls of Ed Whalen who was letting the lies fly left and right. This is no DQ but they are ten minutes in before Hase whips Gama with a belt which lasted all of two seconds. Down the stretch Hase has a really fun run of offense and this is a complete match, but man I just was not feeling this. Singh avalanched Hase and Gama piledrove him as a follow up before locking on his cobra clutch. Then Pillman hits the ring but ends up avalanched to and this no dq match gets tossed. We have this less complete elsewhere. Not a nomination. Karachi Vice promo.
