Posted July 20, 201213 yr comment_5510617 Owen Hart v. Jason The Terrible JIP at around 3:30 with Jason in control. Owen tries to mount a comeback but runs into a nasty looking boot and Owen ends up getting slammed on the floor by Zodiac. Jason hits a dive to the floor which was pretty cool for a man his size in that era and then decks Owen with a chair shot. Owen takes an insane face planting bump almost killing himself in the process. Jason with a running dropkick and is controlling the match with headbutts. Owen makes an attempted comeback with a back leg trip while Ed Whalen is talking about "queer street." Owen mounts a flurry including a nice second rope dropkick and an overhead through that nearly broke Jason's neck. Owen's offensive run is not bad, but it's funny how much more impressive Jason's shit looked. I did really love the crucifix hope spot when Jason went back on offense, but aside from that Owen felt really outclassed on offense which is rare. Just as I say that Owen hits a crazy twisting powerslam off the top. Suplex spot over the top to the floor and this goes to a DCO. This is about nine minutes of a 12 minute match. I honestly don't feel too strongly about it, but I guess I'll nominate it because this felt "Calgaryish" and I can see someone who grew up on the stuff loving it. Owen promo. Nothing special. Mr. Hito v. Biff Wellington JIP at almost ten minutes. Nothing special really and this is heavily eaten up. They went to an uneventful draw. Makhan Singh shits all over servicemen in the States to promote a show in Montana. God love him. Goldie Rogers v. Randy Thatcher JIP at six or seven minuts. I would not mind getting a Rogers match on the set, but this is not the match. This wasn't good. Johnny Smith v. Vietcong Express 2 This is almost complete. The first half of this or longer was just boring as piss. For a company known for offensive dynamos and "innovators" it was almost comical how uninspired it was. Second half was slightly better but still nothing special. Smith is not impressing as a rule so far. Badd Company promo. God damn every time Pillman talks he commands attention. Now he is screaming about social injustice. No clue what the fuck he's taking about but I can't help but listen to him. Hase in a jean jacket with a bandana on hanging with Bruce and Brian is fucking hilarious. Jim Allen gets inducted into Badd Company which is funny as fuck. EXTRA Chris Benoit v. Zodiac JIP at about 2 minutes. VQ is choppy at times. The commentary in this is hilarious. This had some nice spots, but lots of dead time and the crowd seemed disengaged at times. Rosenbloom promo. Amusing. Corporal Kirchner v. Bill Joodin Nothing to this. Makhan Singh and Kirchner face off again on Singh as a possible draft dodger. Bruce Hart/Brian Pillman/Hiro Hase v. Makhan Singh/Jerry Morrow/Great Gama JIP at about seven minutes during the face shine. Hase goes into peril mode quickly and I continue to think Singh is really good in control as a heel. Heel control was pretty good but didn't feel outstanding. The rest of this is reviewed on another disc, but this is far more complete. Bruce Hart/Brian Pillman/Hiro Hase v. Jerry Morrow/Great Gama/Makhan Singh Pillman hits a pretty crazy dive. Hase gets helped away from the ring - who knows why since the fucking match is JIP to shit. Pillman hit a nice splash but gets cut off. He was able to kick out of Singh's avalanche which was surprising. I really enjoyed the heat section on Pillman, but Bruce being the conquering hero on the hot tag just reminds me of what an egomanical fuck he is. Bruce gets bumped over the top on a rope running spot and eats a neckbreaker on the floor while Pillman gets cheapshotted by Singh with a foreign object mid ring behind the refs back. Hase runs out from the back and stops Gama from coming off the top and Bruce rolls him up. This was not as good as I hoped in a more complete form, but still feels like a nomination. Jason The Terrible v. Owen Hart JIP at about four minutes roughly. You know I'm beginning to deal with these JIP matches better because they aren't as egregious as they were, but it's still hard to take match that has a German suplex hope spot twenty seconds in. God damn this is another Jason offensive show. Missing the face shine really hurts this as while Owen sells well and gets some nice hope spots the match does not feel complete at all. Jason takes a big cannonball corner bump and another big bump for a flying dropkick to kick start Owen's second run on offense. Owen ends up hitting a nice tombstone and diving elbow for two. Cool spot with Owen landing on his feet after a monkey flip attempt from Jason. Owen gets Jason's mask off and puts it on and headbutts him and punches him. Zodiac loads his match and jumps into the ring and ambushes Owen. Owen does comically obvious blade post-match though the beatdown is pretty good. Benoit makes the save and a ponder who is worse, Jason, the Zodiac killer or Benoit. Rosenbloom promo setting up a match with Owen/Benoit.
