Posted July 24, 201213 yr comment_5511053 Very good match. The first fall was pretty good. Adrian bumped like a lunatic and Murdoch made funny facial expressions and took fun bumps from headbutts. Then North/South worked on one of the Samoan's legs for a good while. The work wasn't very intricate but it was solid stuff. The Samoan got the hot tag and The Samoans cleaned house with North/South taking big bumps. One of the Samoans got caught in a double team situation though and took several big elbow drops from North/South to give the champs the first fall. The second fall was quick but pretty good as well. A Samoan was double teamed for awhile until all hell broke loose and Murdoch found himself in taking a nasty double headbutt that led to two more headbutts for the Samoans to take the second fall and even it up at one apiece. The third fall was alright too with Murdoch stooging and Adrian bumping wildly before all four men battled it out until the twenty minute time limit expired and the match ended in a draw. Captain Lou was interviewed after the match and said he respected both teams or something. Again, very good tag match with solid structure and some good stuff in between.
July 24, 201213 yr comment_5511058 I think East/West is better than North/South and don't give a fuck who knows it. Still this was a good enough match to nominate. This went long, and at times felt long. There were spots that looked good and fun the first time, but were repeated to the point where they really didn't work anymore. Adonis had some great Ziggleresque bumps, but they probably were too much at times. Still this was more good than bad. The way they structured the falls made sense and one logically led to the other. I liked the heels offense when they got it in, which wasn't enough. The Samoans were suitable in their role here. Honestly it sounds like I'm shitting on this, but I thought it was a surprisingly good bell-to-bell affair, that was plagued by the problems you would expect from a match with these two teams. This is a good match that others might like more than me.
September 29, 201411 yr comment_5629493 I liked the heels a lot here. They worked their asses off here, and did some great stooging.Especially, when selling headbutts. They did everything they could to make the Samoans look great. The match dragged a bit here and there. Though for the most part it was a lot of fun. The 1st fall I thought was real good. The finish of the 3rd fall sucked. Low-end nomination. 6/16/84
June 19Jun 19 comment_6031494 ADRIAN ADONIS & DICK MURDOCH vs WILD SAMOANS (2/3 Falls) (06/16/1984; WWF MSG; New York, NY; 00:29:39) - 1st fall, the Samoans attack before the jackets are off. The crowd “goes bananas” according to Gorilla. Ha. Murdoch hurting his elbow on the Samoan head is cute. He bumps for the headbutt. Adonis comes in and does the 360 bump. Murdoch goes back to the elbows. Same result. Another big Adonis bump. Adonis uppercut turns the tide. Murdoch learned his lesson and just stomps on the face of Afa. They really work over Sika’s leg… maybe a little too long. Sia kicks Murdoch off for the hot tag and the Garden comes alive. Big backdrop on Murdoch. Murdoch sort of no sells a headbutt. Double team elbow and Adonis pins Afa. - 2nd fall, Adonis sneak attacks Afa. Afa gets worked over and makes a casual tag to Sika. Vicious double headbutt to Dickie. Samoan drop and the three count. ”20 thousand people on their feet!” - 3rd fall, nerve hold to ruin my good vibes. Big running falling headbutt gets a near fall. More headbutts. Adonis saves. More nerve hold to kill the crowd. Adonis finally tags in. Another big bump from Adonis and another. Adonis is single handedly saving this thing. Murdoch off the top turnbuckle. A Samoan hit the referee and bad ending to the 3rd fall - Man, this match was really long. Great performance by Adonis but that finish puts a bad taste in your mouth. Actually, both teams were disqualified. Bad finish to a long, enjoyable at points, match. No vote.
