The actual date on this is 7/23/84. Very good match. I see some of the issues people have with the Adonis/Murdoch team. This match has a good example of one of them. It takes too long for the match to get going because Adonis and Murdoch have to showcase their shit. It gets really annoying. Terry Daniels was throwing arm drags, dropkicks, and applying arm bars for ten minutes. All of the moves were executed well but this shit went too long and it got annoying. Daniels did do a tremendous feet first landing off of a Adonis monkey flip attempt. Once the rope running stopped this match got into better structure. Adonis gave Daniels an awesome running powerslam and Murdoch beat the shit out of him for several minutes. Daniels got in a nice dropkick and Sarge came in for the hot tag. Sarge cleared the ring and applied the Cobra Clutch on Murdoch but Adonis preventing the submission. Sarge took a nasty knee in the back and tagged in a rested Daniels. Daniels laid in some nice dropkicks on Adonis and got a really great near fall off of a cross body. The ref was distracted by Sarge and Adonis gave Daniels a cheap shot. This was followed up by a frightening top rope knee drop from Murdoch for the North/South win. This finished 40 on the first set but I don't see that at all for this new set. I'm calling it a low end nomination that could have been better if not hurt by the long bullshit that took up over half the match.

#40 ADRIAN ADONIS & DICK MURDOCH vs SGT. SLAUGHTER & TERRY DANIELS (07/23/1984; WWF MSG; New York, NY; 00:22:38)
-    Daniels looks so tiny compared to the other three. I imagine that is what Dean Malenko would look like if he was there in the 80s. I think they should have given Sarge some shine first before settling in on Daniels. Ask and I shall receive. Sarge comes in once I typed that. The crowd is really subdued, even for Sarge. The crowd gets loud for the great sequence where Daniels lands on his feet, bounces off the ropes and lands back in the arm bar to Adonis. Daniels frustrates Murdoch for a minute before Murdoch has enough and says it is time to abuse the young boy. Murdoch takes a piece of debris and rubs it in Terry’s eyes. Murdoch whips him but Terry gets his foot up and goes back to the arm bar. Wow… the Terry Daniels show! The actual movements aren’t amazing, it’s surprising who is actually executing them and controlling the match. A super crisscross ends up with an Adrian back elbow and Adonis just tosses him into the heel corner. Sarge saves Terry from a corner whip and Terry dropkicks Murdoch and tags Slaughter. Slaughter cleans house. The crowd erupts and where is my Slaughter-Murdoch singles match??? Sarge tags Daniels, carries Daniels on his back and then drops a knee with the extra weight. NICE. Daniels never quits and keeps finding ways to survive… and Murdoch finds ways to torture him like the dangling arm bar over his back. Sarge gets the hot tag and hooks Murdoch into the Cobra Clutch but Sarge is ambushed to break the hold. Daniels tags in (way too soon) and the North-South hit him with the flying knee trash compactor when the ref was not looking/ Sarge hits both of them with a double Slaughter Cannon after the match. Man, I wished this had more Sarge but Daniels did great as a one man show. STRONG NOMINATION.
