Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard vs. The Hart Foundation (16:23) (Summerslam 8/28/89)

-          Tully and Arn bumping huge for the Harts. The Tully-Bret Hammerlcok wristlock stuff was awesome. Great sequence where Arn comes in and applies a wristlock, Bret flips out and sends both outside. Bret chases Tully outside and the Brainbusters outsmart him when he gets in the ring. All 4 men in and The Harts clear the ring. While outside, Bret steps on Tully’s fingers than stomps. Nasty. Another great spot where Tully is whipped to the corner leaps for a cross body and lands right into an Anvil bear hug and rams him in the turnbuckle. The double battering ram misses and now Arn takes over on Anvil. The Busters are just as efficient on offense as they are when getting beat up. Everything just looks so good. Mid ring collision between Arn and Anvil. Bret does an old Foundation trick of hitting the knee on Arn as he comes off the ropes. Bret fights both Busters on his own. A double Irish whip results in Bret’s running clothesline. Bret has things in control on Tully. The other 2 are fighting on the outside. This allows Bret to shoot Anvil in on a slingshot tackle. Finish saw Anvil hit the inverted powerslam with Bret on top of Tully. With the ref distracted, Arn comes off the ropes and hits Bret. Tully covers. Champs retain. This was an awesome match and in contention as one of my favorite Hart Foundation matches. EASY NOMINATION.
