Sgt. Slaughter vs Iron Sheik (5/19/84 Landover, MD)

This feels like a low-end nomination. Sarge opens up by beating some ass. Sarge punches Sheik right in the back of the neck. All of Sarge's offense seems full of hate. Slaughter takes his signature bump into the corner. Sheik throws a wicked chair shot. Sheik is working the back. We see him do a gut wrench suplex, stomps to the back. Slaughter is gushing blood. Sheik misses a top rope splash. Things get totally out of control and the match is thrown out.

SGT. SLAUGHTER vs IRON SHEIK (05/19/1984; WWF Capital Centre; 00:17:19)
-    Sheik gives a passionate promo before the match. Sarge is awesome just punching Sheik relentlessly in the face and head. He tosses him outside and grabs a chair and attacks. Inside, the ref took the chair away. Sarge still just using the Sheik as target practice for his fists. Twice, Sarge has picked the Sheik up and prevented a pin. Sheik reverses and Sarge is outside getting rammed into a table and a chair across his back. Sarge has blood on his back. Sarge also has a busted face. The crowd is hurting this match more than anything. They pop for big moves like Sheik missing a top rope splash but haven’t sustained like MSG. Sheik hammers away but Sarge fights back. Sarge signals for the Cannon and knocks Sheik senseless. Sarge tries to get the boot but Sarge and Sheik both push the ref away for the DQ finish. I was enjoying this match but not loving this match. I honestly don’t know if we need this on the set. LOW END NOMINATION at best. I would rather have the bloody Sheik vs. Hogan match.
