Ricky Steamboat vs Jake Roberts (8/9/86 Boston, MA)

This is a high end nomination. We see early Jake blocking Steamers chops. This is a call back to the match they had a couple of months ago Steamer lit up Jake with chops. Eventually Steamer gets Jake off balance and is able to get some strikes in. Jake starts some early arm work. Steamer nails the ring post with a chop. Jake is a cobra here and just attacks the arm. TSteamer's comeback is great with him putting Jake into the barricade. The face plants in the ring. It had a real viciousness to it. We get a flash pin, and a postmatch that ends with a DDT to get his heat back.

RICKY STEAMBOAT vs JAKE ROBERTS (08/09/1986; WWF Boston Garden; 00:21:14)
-    Jake blocks some chops early on and is proud of himself. He does it again and hooks Ricky’s arm and controls the arm for a few minutes. The crowd is dead until a crisscross has Jake grabbing the ropes to narrowly avoid a huge karate chop. This finally picks up when Ricky unloads and Jake bails outside. Ricky is playing tag on his face. They battle on the apron and Ricky misses a chop and nails the ring post. Now Jake is attacking the injured hand on the ring post and railing. Jake is getting DDT chants even at this juncture. Jake is damaging the hand on the rope. Ricky tries to fight back but Jake hooks that hand and Ricky crumples in pain. Jake stomps on the hand of Steamboat then wraps it around the rope. Jake throws him out but Steamer stays on the apron. Initially, this match annoyed me but it was a great strategy by Jake since Dragon chopped the shit out of him for 15 minutes the last time they were in Boston. Jake takes his wrist tape off but it is intercepted by the ref. This allows Ricky to guillotine Jake on the ropes. HE pulls Jake out and rams him in the barricade and the table. He chops him with his good hand and fights one handed. Jake throws Ricky into the referee. Jake pins Steamboat twice but no ref. Jake revives the ref and Steamboat gets Jake with an O'Connor roll for three. Jake is pissed and hits the DDT for the win. He then pulls out Damian but Ricky is saved by Ted Arcidi and Dick Slater. STRONG NOMINATION. Both Boston matches have to go on the set. As individual matches, they re STRONG NOMINATIONS. Together, they are an EASY MUST HAVE NOMINATION.
