#22 BOB BACKLUND vs ADRIAN ADONIS-LUMBERJACK (03/28/1982; WWF Capital Centre; 00:18:51)
-    Bob is on fire to start and a big back body drop sends Adrian out. He must have forgotten about the lumberjacks because he starts brawling with them as they attack on the outside. More Bob offense inside and Adrian escapes but is on the heel side. The faces come over and start fighting to get Adrian back in. DAMN! Adonis comes in and a huge chop sends him to the mat. Adrian sends Bob outside to get mauled by the heel lumberjacks. Non-stop action between the two (powerslam, bodyslam, slingshot) capped off by Bob’s piledriver. This has some execution problems with a sloppy slingshot and body press but no lack of energy. Even an abdominal stretch battle makes the people crazy. Adonis tries to take over with a stun gun and suplex but misses a big splash. He charges at Bob and gets sent outside and attacked. Bob now gets some big moves (hanging suplex, atomic drop) but Adonis counters with an atomic drop of his own. Adrian hits a bulldog and gets crotched on the 2nd attempt similar to Philly. Cool spot with Adrian getting tangled in the ropes and the heels desperately trying to untie him. The ending is similar to Philly with Adrian hooking in Goodnight Irene and then a rollup reversal for the pin. I loved this match since it was non-stop action and the lumberjacks were near perfect in their roles. This is my favorite of the three matches and a SLAM DUNK NOMIANTION.
