#38 BOB BACKLUND vs BUDDY ROSE (Lumberjack Match) (11/25/1982; WWF Philadelphia Spectrum)
-    Buddy likes to regroup outside a lot so this makes perfect sense to have a lumberjack match. SD Jones is once again a special referee. Buddy immediately tries to escape and is sent back in form all four sides. He bounces huge from Bob’s punches and the crowd is excited. A running forearm sends Buddy out again and he is thrown right back in. Bob settles down and hooks the arm. He deadlifts Buddy by one arm and throws him down TWICE! Buddy on the receiving end of 2 arm drags and slides out but forgot about the lumberjacks so he is stuck inside again. Bob is working the arm with so much more activity than with Snuka earlier in the year. Buddy keeping busy, kipping up only to get flipped back to the mat. Great arm work here. Bob is rowing the boat, yanking Buddy’s arm each time and the crowd is chanting along. Buddy is being tortured here. Buddy lays down, gets pinned. He is forced to stay in the ring and work this match. Backlund sent out twice. Once was a bit awkward but the flying forearm was nice. Too bad he was sent to the face lumberjacks. Buddy now using the lumberjacks to his advantage. He alternates between punishment and using the lumberjacks. Buddy’s back breaker gets two. Bob gets a sunset flip but Buddy gets up first. They battle for a suplex and Bob gets it. Great near falls follow., A noggin knocker gives Buddy a close two. Buddy is now dropping knees and FIVE ELBOW DROP S IN A ROW. Bob can barely move and Buddy slaps him. Buddy goes for his back breaker but Bob escapes and hooks on the chicken wing. It looked so fluid and Buddy is trying to ram Bob in the corner to break but Bob holds on and Buddy passes out. Amazing match. SLAM DUNK NOMINATION. The best Buddy match in WWF.
