Stiff, violent and using the cage the way you should in an escape the cage rules match. I was telling Phil I love the way they just crumple to the ground with a leg dangling up in the air or half twisted when they land because it feels more real than he choreographed typical getting crotched on the rope or flat back bumps you see nowadays in nearly every cage match. Each time someone tried to escape the cage, it felt like the right way to stop the escape... Tito's palm strike to Greg's face, Tito holding on to Greg's tights for dear life, Greg punching the shit out of Tito. Add the blood (although there aren't any great camera angles of the blood), the awesome finish and Greg losing his shit in the post-match and this might be the best cage match the WWF produced in the 80s. EASIEST OF NOMINATIONS
August 3, 201213 yr comment_5511827 Yeah this was truly tremendous. I loved how desperate every escape from the cage was, they were grabbing each other like they were hanging on the edge of a cliff. I loved vicious pitbull Valentine smashing Tito in the face brutality on the edge. Also man was that a great finish. I have no idea why that wasn't reused 100 times since then. Slam dunk
August 3, 201213 yr comment_5511830 I'm going to watch this in a minute but holy shit Greg-Tito's ENTIRE feud will be on this set. The issue we have is EVERY match is different. Yeah, this was tremendous. This match fits right into the timeline of what I'm watching too as the last show I watched was a 6/21/85 handheld and the next show on the spindle is 8/3/85. This is the end of possibly the best feud the company produced in the decade that I've seen so far and also introduced a new Intercontinental Championship after Greg's post-match fit in the cage. This was as violent as their other matches and more. I actually think I like the 1/5/85 Boston handheld a little better but I'll watch both once the set gets out as I'm confident both will be a part of it. Greg's violent clubs to Tito's face as they both attempted to escape through the cage door was frightening to watch. I loved the spot where Greg face planted in between the ropes and the cage but Tito fell down also because he had just been savagely beaten. The finish to this might be the best finish I've ever seen in a cage match as Tito climbs down the cage and Greg attempts to go through the door, Tito kicks the cage door shut on Valentine's face mid-way down the cage then drops down to win back the IC Title. I mean that was an absolutely tremendously brilliant finish. When one adds the brutality, violence, stiffness, blood, hate, and finish this match equals a pretty damn EASY NOMINATION.
December 2, 201311 yr comment_5574816 I liked this match too. I felt it was a low-end nomination though. The finish was amazing though. The brawling was very primal here. Though the escape the cage limited the greatness to the match. I think I liked the Bob/Valentine cage match better,
