Posted September 28, 201213 yr comment_5515819 Championship Wrestling = Saturday AM Show (12/1/85) This opens with Tony Schiavone & Rodger Kent who looks SO different in the AWA and I think this was his only taping with JCP. (12/1/85) Paul Ellering & the Roadies come out for a promo vowing revenge on the Russians for injuring Paul's neck and they show clips from the injury from the week before. Good stuff. Billy Jack Haynes vs. Tommy Lane (12/1/85) Kent is on PBP here and his style is so different to Schiavone or Caudle. Total squash. Paul Jones & The Barbarian are out next for a promo and Jones is such a great curmudgeon. Magnum TA comes out next with his newly won US title for a promo talking about the upcoming Bunkhouse Stampedes. Terry Taylor vs. George South (12/1/85) Decent TV match here that exposed Kent on commentary where he thought South had a three count when the ref only counted to one plus he admitted he didn't know who Taylor was. South was a chipper opponent and Taylor's strikes had some pepper to them. Tully & Baby Doll come out for a solemn promo next about losing the US title to Magnum talking about how he never said the words I quit. The Rock n Roll Express (Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton) vs. Larry Clark & Kent Glover (12/1/85) Squash. Dillon & Landell come out next for a gloating promo about Buddy's win over Taylor for the National title at Starrcade. Landell is so good here talking about how he sweats more writing women's phone numbers than wrestling a match. The Barbarian vs. Mac Jeffers (12/1/85) Total squash. Arn & Ole is out next for a promo talking about the Bunkhouse Stampede. The Minnesota Wrecking Crew (Arn & Ole Anderson) vs. Italian Stallion & Jim Jeffers (12/1/85) Andersons were so great at working squashes at this time. Totally brutalizing opponents. Billy Jack Haynes is out for a promo next wearing a AWESOME shirt saying "WOMEN PREFER HAYNES" Paul Jones comes out to interrupt and says that he has a newspaper to protect him. Jones is all over the place here talking about putting up $10,000 for a strength challenge between Haynes & Barbarian. "Nature Boy" Buddy Landell vs. Bill Tabb (12/1/85) Landell looked good here. The Russians come out next talking about how they will destroy Americans. World Championship Wrestling (3/15/86) Tully Blanchard vs. Don Turner (3/15/86) Tully is vicious here and along with Dillon cuts a good promo afterwards. "Boogie Woogie Man" Jimmy Valiant vs. Bob Owens (3/15/86) Total squash. Valiant getting mugged by all the kids as he came out was great. Magnum is out for a promo next talking about his feud with Nikita. "Gorgeous" Jimmy Garvin vs. Bill Mulkey (3/15/86) Squash with Garvin shittalking Wahoo McDaniel throughout. Baby Doll cuts a promo for Wahoo for some reason talking about Garvin. Jim Cornette is out next with his usual fun promo. The Midnight Express ("Loverboy" Dennis Condrey & "Beautiful" Bobby Eaton) vs. Phil Brown & Lee Peak (3/15/86) Your standard great MX squash match. Next we get a video from the Crockett Cup press conference. Extra material of course. Arn comes out for a promo next complaining about the seeding. NWA World TV Title: Arn Anderson © vs. Mike Jackson (3/15/86) This was a damn good TV match with a very hot Techwood crowd going crazy for anytime Arn ate offense. They go to a break as Jackson has Arn in a headlock and come back with both men trading nearfalls which hurts this. The fans are MOLTEN for Mike now and this is really good stuff as Arn is great at selling his disbelief. Arn would use a cheapshot to take over on offense and then works him over fierce. Jackson then would make a fiery comeback which was very fun but would eat a big elbow then a vicious Gourdbuster for the finish. Small clip aside this was a very fun TV match and I'm going to push this forward as a low-end nomination. Dusty & Baby Doll are out next for a promo talking about wanting all his titles back and promising to go butt naked if necessary. Yeesh. Garvin & Precious then come out whining about the fans & Wahoo which leads to a CWF video for Wahoo which was good. RnR Express cut a promo next about the Crockett Cup and getting the NWA tag titles back. "Ragin Bull" Manny Fernandez vs. Tony Zane (3/15/86) Bull wins easily. Arn & Tully come out next with their gold talking about the Crockett Cup before Baby Doll shows up to start shit and challenges Dillon to a match. Dillon happily jumps on the apron with Arn & Tully but Dusty & Magnum show up for a brawl. They try to break Arn's leg as the crowd goes nuts and then they go for Tully's but he gets away. This was great stuff. Extra material. Manny & Valiant are out next to talk about their war with Paul Jones. "Hands of Stone" Ronnie Garvin vs. Kent Glover (3/15/86) Garvin is a stiff fucker here as he just kills Glover.
