Posted September 29, 201213 yr comment_5515851 This starts with the rest of WCW 3/15/86. Arn, Tully, & Dillon are out angry about what happened earlier with Baby Doll & America's Team. Ivan & Nikita are out next going off on Magnum. Black Bart vs. Carl Styles (3/15/86) Squash. Ronnie Garvin is out next talking about teaming with Magnum in the Crockett Cup which leads to Magnum making a cameo at the end. Best of World Championship Wrestling 12/8/85 Scouting Report w/Bill Apter interviews Paul Ellering & The Road Warriors next who talk about the Koloffs. Hawk is funny here. Cornette is out next with a great promo ripping the fans and the Sawyers. The Midnight Express ("Loverboy" Dennis Condrey & "Beautiful" Bobby Eaton) vs. Nick Busick & Ron Rossi (9/1/85) Another great MX squash. The Rock n Roll Express (Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton) vs. Black Bart & Thunderfoot (Joel Deaton) (12/3/85) This is from the 12/7/85 episode of World Wide Wrestling. Damn you gotta love the Spartanburg fans as they were always molten hot and this is no different here. This is a sprint as the heels are competitive so we get a Morton FIP section which was good. Fans are insane for the hot tag and the finish and this was a fun little TV match and with more time could've been a nomination. Best of World Championship Wrestling 12/15/85 The Rock n Roll Express (Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton) vs. Jim & Mac Jeffers (12/7/85) RnR look great here. "Hands of Stone" Ronnie Garvin vs. Black Cat (Gerald Finley) (9/15/85) I liked Finley in this gimmick as he was a good worker but was just bland working as himself. Garvin was fun here with a mixture of stiff shots and cool wrestling spots. Next up is Scouting Report w/Bill Apter where he interviews Ric Flair. They talk about the proposed entrants into the NWA World TV Title tournament which features Windham, Lawler, Colon, Duggan, & Slater who were in no way in hell competing in this. They also plant the seeds of a Flair/Landell program as Flair narrates clips of Landell and talks about him ripping him off. Flair is great here at being Flair and this is a definite extra. National Heavyweight Title: Terry Taylor © vs. "Nature Boy" Buddy Landell (11/3/85) This is why I loved the Sunday show back in the day as they would air full matches from The Omni. Landell is great here working chickenshit heel and the loud audible faggot chants add to it. Landell throws a great forearm smash to take control and he is solid on offense with Taylor having some good hope spots to keep the fans in it. Landell works a fairly lengthy arm section that was cool as both men worked hard while in the hold. The match would break down into a slugfest with Taylor getting the better end of it until Dillon would trip him up on the ropes then trying to post him on the floor but Dillon ate it instead. Taylor would leap over the ropes with a sunset flip but Landell grabbed Dillon to hold on until Tommy Young broke that up causing Budro to get pinned. This was a solid match and a rare Omni match to make TV. This goes on the block. Championship Wrestling 12/21/85 Magnum comes out for a promo to start to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. The Rock n Roll Express (Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton) vs. George South & Tony Zane (12/21/85) Spotlight match for the RnR and they cut a promo afterwards. Magnum TA vs. Vernon Deaton (12/21/85) Squash and then he joins Dusty for a promo afterwards. Ivan & Nikita Koloff, & Krusher Khruschev vs. Richard Dunn, Kent Glover, & Bill Tabb (12/21/85) Squash. The Andersons & Flair are out next for a standard strong promo especially Flair who is subtly starting his feud with the RnR Express. Thunderfoot (Joel Deaton) vs. Don Turner (12/21/85) Spotlight match for Thunderfoot. The highlight of this is that Crockett makes a crack about Ole's awesome t-shirt so Ole comes back out and just buries Crockett. That was awesome.
