Cornette acknowledges the Flair/Eaton match, which is a nice touch, considering WCW's tendency to ignore its B shows on its A shows. Corny wants to know why Sting got the title shot at Wrestle War instead of Lex Luger. Flair points out that it's because he won the Ironman tournament at Starrcade '89.

Woman quickly interrupts, using "Great Balls Of Fire" as entrance music. She offers to help Flair in his match with Sting, and also suggests that she may be able to help him in ... ahem ... other ways. Flair is worried that if the Horsemen let Woman in the door, it would be a distraction. He doesn't want to mix business with pleasure. But he tells her how awesome she is to close things out.

She doesn't quite seem ready to give up on this idea yet.

Cornette thinks a Flair/Sting match won't be all that legit since they are friends now and Luger would be a better opponent. Woman, who is looking good, comes out and makes an offer to Flair and the Horsemen. Flair politely declines but thinks woman is awesome baby. Cornette, with sweaty brow, sleazes it up after making his own offer to Woman.

Am I the only one who thinks that this should have been two distinct segments? I was really getting into the Corny/Flair interview when Woman showed up. The Woman/Flair stuff was good too, but it could have happened at a different time.

I love the look of disgust on Corny's face when he introduces Flair, especially since he's a big Flair fan and good friend in real life. Discontinuities between kayfabe and real life such as this intrigue me.

Somehow I don't think crochety old Ole would be bothered one bit by Woman, even at her sexiest.

It's an episode of the 'Louisville Slugger' and Cornette, being the investigative journalist that he is, has said that he wants to get to the bottom of something, but to do that they said he has to have the World Heavyweight champion, Ric Flair, as his guest. Cornette wonders if Flair pulled some strings and called in a few favours so that his friend, Sting, could get the first title shot on 2/25, as opposed to someone like Lex Luger who would go for his eyes and go for his throat! Flair says that the Board of Directors put Sting in that position, not him, and it was because Sting won the Iron Man tournament at Starcade and beat him along the way. He's one of the most awesome athletes in the sport and he deserves a shot at the World title, just like Lex Luger and a whole host of other great athletes in the NWA.

They are then joined by Woman and Nitron and the Naitch seems a little smitten with her. She says that she can help him in his match with Sting and can help him do a lot of other things...professionally. He tells her that the Horseman always separate business from pleasure, and if they let her in the door they would all have a hard time concentrating. He declines her offer but does compliment her on his way out leading you to believe that this isn't quite over just yet. Woman tells Cornette that in 1990 she plans on ruling the wrestling world, and to rule the wrestling world you have to own the Horseman. Cornette then tries to sell her some stock in Cornette Enterprises, but the look on her face says it all!

Nice little segment and it does come across that they had some pretty big plans for Woman in 1990, shame those plans never came to fruition.

Cool segment that lays another piece of groundwork for the road ahead and it's always nice to see Cornette and Flair have a chance to do something together. Great Balls of Fire is a silly theme song for someone like Woman but it's nowhere near as out of place as Nitron who, once more, despite his size, looks like the least intimidating bodyguard ever. Nevertheless, Woman and Flair work well together and the segment has a funny little run-out with Cornette looking a goof as usual.
