The equipment they have to wear to hear each other seems unnecessarily exaggerated and makes WCW look really cheap. Anyway, Sting promises a surprise for Capital Combat.
November 12, 201212 yr comment_5519761 We apparently caught Ole in the middle of his day job as head coach of the University of Minnesota football team. Ole assumes that Sting is going to announce his retirement from wrestling, and Sting pretends to waffle on the decision before putting Anderson in his place. Sting promises a BIG surprise for Capital Combat. I know of two surprises Sting unveiled at that show and neither of them are good.
December 5, 201212 yr comment_5521666 Ole laughing and thinking he has hearing problems that Sting wont retire was humorous and I thought sting brought more fire here than in his last promo but it does seem like we are getting a lot of Sting for someone that would be on the shelf for 2 more months.

Sting was high energy and excited and Ole was calm and evil, so both got across the points they were looking to get across.
April 13, 201312 yr comment_5542016 Watching this yearbook has made appreciate Ole Anderson from the standpoint of a character. He's like the mob enforcer of the Four Horsemen, always dishing out the threats. I love that he doesn't yell and scream, but stays cool, calm, and collected when spouting off his mouth. He really was an underrated character looking back.

Ole seems more and more like he's trying to hold back the inevitable reckoning that he knows is coming as soon as Sting's cleared to compete. As for seeing too much of Sting, better an injured Sting as face of the company than Luger, who'd already been turned twice and on his best day wasn't considered nearly as kid-friendly, which was at least somewhat of a consideration. Vince had Warrior to step in as number one face while Hogan was out; who did Turner have that was ready made to take up the lead face role from February 7 on? I have to admit, it may not have been the smartest move in the world to keep throwing Sting out there, since another accident like the one in Corpus Christi could have wrecked his career. But they didn't have anyone else to be their face of the franchise, so they did the best they possibly could.
February 12, 20169 yr comment_5726876 Ole is so great here, pretending he doesn't hear Sting say that he isn't retiring. Sting gets fired up and hoots and hollers and promises some kind of surprise at Capital Combat. I can't wait to see what it is! Sting was on TV almost every week during his injury, and it was because, like Garretta said, there wasn't really anyone else to put on TV. I wonder if this could have been the time to elevate Pillman and have him step in as kind of the mouthpiece while Luger fights alongside him as the muscle. There's built in history with Flair there. Or to go back even further, maybe have Pillman take Luger's spot at Wrestle War, since he's shown he can hang with Flair in the ring and wants another shot. Also interesting here is that Arn Anderson is injured, Ole can't wrestle, so you've kind of got a situation where your main feud only has one heel who can fight, and Luger.
December 17, 20168 yr comment_5779010 Ole and Sting talk via satellite in a split screen deal with Sting in Atlanta and Ole in Houston. Ole says that it’s a long time since they’ve spoken and he’s heard that Sting has an announcement which he assumes pertains to his retirement from wrestling? Sting says the chances of him retiring are slim and none, and Ole questions whether the equipment is working right and he heard Sting correctly! He thought Sting would have got the message in Corpus Christi that you don’t fool with the Horsemena, but he shows up in Greensboro trying to help Lex Luger and that didn’t go down too well with them either. Ole says that when he tells you to stay away, he’s not joking. Capital Combat is coming up on the 19th and he wants Sting to get the message loud and clear as he didn’t understand the first two, stay away from Capital Combat. Sting mockingly says how Ole sounds serious, how he did get hurt a little, maybe he should keep his distance from them and think twice about coming to Capital Combat? Before saying ‘not a chance idiot!’ He’s got his name and reputation to think of and while they hurt him bad, he’s coming along fine now. He will be at Capital Combat and he’ll have a surprise for the Horsemen and the rest of the world with him. I found Sting really annoying in this segment; in the studio with his shades on, chewing gum and acting all cocky. I’m rooting for Ole and the Horsemen to do another number on him and put him out a bit longer! On his return to World Championship Wrestling just a few weeks ago I thought he was going to be a huge babyface, not as convinced now and it’ll be interesting to see how things pan out. Ole was superb as he has been in every interview so far in the Yearbook.
