Cornette compares the Teddy Long/Rick Steiner debate to Lincoln/Douglas! So odd that they're actually having a debate. Any right-wingers who complained about Candy Crowley not being fair should see Cornette here, as he keeps calling time on Rick after he just gets a few words out. Rick takes exception and Doom run in and attack him in a pretty kickass beatdown. Scott finally comes down and now I'm psyched to see the Capital Combat match, as these guys are beating the hell out of each other.

Sugar Ray Long explains all the penthouses and long Cadillacs he'll be buying as manager of the World Tag Team Champions, while Rick Steiner mercifully gets cut off seconds into his rebuttals. This ends predictably--not that that's a bad thing--with Doom backjumping Rick and Scott making the save.

Brawl to end this was really good and intense. I should have seen the bit coming of Cornette cutting off Steiner but I didn't and the first time he did it, I laughed really hard.

The crowd give the announcement of a debate no reaction. They were smart to keep this short before the angle.

Cornette introduces the Long/Steiner debate. Cornette is not a very biased moderator. I think his stop watch is a bit off. Doom show up to attack Rick. Scott shows up to help his brother. A bit late there brother.

Fun, different little concept to hype Doom/Steiners. Personally, I'd like to hear more about Teddy Long's houseboat.

Nit really much different from your standard interview brawl. Teddy's much better verbally putting himself over than he is on commentary, thank God. The Steiners are better off not talking at all, because they have no verbal charisma to speak of (not that you could tell from this short snippet, of course; I mean in general).

Man talk about an intellectual battle of wits. I was really hoping this was going to be purely a debate, so I was very disappointed to see Doom run in and break up the action.
