November 18, 201212 yr Author comment_5520361 Jim Cornette has been joined by Sugar Ray Long and Mean Mark. This was obviously taped before Capital Combat, as Long still has his hair. Long announces that he is selling Mean Mark's contract to Paul E. Dangerously. Cornette doesn't really seem thrilled to hear that name, and is even less pleased to actually see him. The two have some words, which is very entertaining. Cornette hopes Long gets cash for this deal, which is funny considering Heyman's future track record.
November 20, 201212 yr comment_5520540 Great to see Cornette & Paul E. still selling their feud, instead of being all buddy-buddy just because they're both heels now.
December 15, 201212 yr comment_5522618 Agree that this was a great sense of history with Cornette and Paul still not being friends. Weird to think that Paul E and Taker were linked together at one point.
January 20, 201312 yr comment_5529107 Mean Mark with Teddy Long. The Heart Punch. One of my lease favorite moves. Teddy is a visionary as he sees Mean Mark as a future World Champion. However Teddy is ready to sell Mean Mark’s contract to Paul Dangerously. So much for Teddy thinking long term. Cornette and Heyman are not the best of friends. Even the lawyers seen Mean Mark as the next World Champion.
February 19, 201312 yr comment_5535999 Fun segment with Paul E and Cornette still hating each other and Teddy Long trying to be peacemaker. In the span of about one year, Taker will go through about four different managers, which I guess speaks to how most people thought about him as a talker at this point in his career.
January 4, 201510 yr comment_5648167 The most entertaining part of this was Corny and Paul almost getting into it and Teddy just wanting to get the deal done and get out of town. I would have loved to see the Cornette/Dangerously feud reignite, but with neither one exactly on Ole's Christmas list, it wasn't meant to be. Loved seeing Corny back up from Taker as well. I have to ask this: As well as Percy fit the Undertaker character as Paul Bearer, do you think Taker would have done just as well if Heyman had jumped with him instead? (I don't think Vince would have signed Long; he still had Slick, who wouldn't have fit with Taker at all.)
April 16, 20169 yr comment_5744067 Teddy Long, Jim Cornette, and Paul E. in the same ring for a segment, what a triumvirate.
December 31, 20168 yr comment_5780858 Jim Cornette has been joined tonight by his close personal friend and his special guest, ‘Sugar Ray’ Long and Mean Mark. Not the most welcome of response from the crowd and Cornette tells the rednecks to show a little respect. He says how Mean Mark has been winning a lot of matches with that heart punch and wants to know how he developed that thing? Teddy says that he’s not here to talk about Mean Mark and the heart punch, he’s here to make a major announcement, one that’s so big that the CNN news camera are out here live to tape. In Mean Mark he sees a World Heavyweight champion, but what he sees in Doom are the World tag team champions. As great a manager as he is, and as busy as he is, he just doesn’t have time to see to them both. What he’s going to do is stick with the ‘soul brothers’ Doom and sell Mean Mark’s contract live on the Louisville Slugger tonight. Cornette is quite excited that this is happening on his show until Teddy says that he’s selling the contract to Paul E. Dangerously. He queries whether Teddy is sure and that he’s had Paul E.’s credit rating checked! Dangerously joins them and Cornette’s not happy and tells Teddy to at least take cash from him (how prophetic!). Paul E. says that he’s not here to cause trouble, but he and Cornette continue to bicker and Long has to get between them to calm the situation. Paul says that the deal is done, Mean Mark is the next World Heavyweigh champion and with his heart punch, no-one, not Lex Luger, not Sting, not the Steiners can stop him. Long says that the only reason he chose to sell to Paul E. was because he offered him more money than anyone else and Cornette closes by saying he’s heard of being bit by a snake, but he’s never heard of being bought by a snake!
