January 10, 201312 yr Author comment_5527132 It makes no sense for the Freebirds to be against that backdrop in front of a live audience. Hayes makes a lot of anti-Native American comments before being interrupted by the Renegade Warriors. They call the Freebirds sissies. Homophobia vs Racism!
January 23, 201312 yr comment_5529776 Cornette presses Hayes & Garvin on the identity of their mystery partner for their Main Event match tomorrow--Buddy Roberts and Terry Gordy are teased, which is downright unfair. Hayes gets in some cheap slurs about American Indians, bringing out the Renegade Warriors to rebut--they wear paint because they're warriors, not sissies! Not a bad segment but it's really, really hard for me to get excited about the Renegade Warriors against anybody, and even harder when that "anybody" is the '90s Freebirds.
January 28, 201312 yr comment_5531214 Who the hell was the mystery partner. Terrible angle and grouping with these guys.
February 11, 201312 yr comment_5534531 Cornette wants to know who the Freebirds tag partner will be. WCW is checking off the list of various groups to make insensitive comments amount. I believe this is our first Native American comments from the 90 yearbook.
June 8, 201312 yr comment_5547095 I have no idea who the mystery partner was, but if I had a guess, it would be Little Richard Marley. Dont hold me to that. One of the Youngbloods there (I always get Mark & Chris mixed up) comes out in the tackiest "Stereotypical Indian But Still Early 90's Neon" gear I have ever seen. Tatanka looks positively Wahoo McDaniel-esque understated in comparison. Alan Iron Eagle is in this scene as well and that kid looks like he's just baby fat. I have no room to talk about being chubby but, in that era, he didnt have a chance with that bod.
March 4, 201510 yr comment_5657024 There's no record of who the mystery partner is; Graham Cawthon's site doesn't have results for the 10/21 Main Event. Put me down for King/Marley, who eats the pin in less than five minutes. Anybody else have a suspicion that this is the same old green screen stuff with fake crowd noise pumped in? If they were really doing this interview in front of a crowd, why wouldn't they use a platform or the ring? Stuff like this meant so much more when the Freebirds were actually being pushed as something. As it is, they're tired and old, which makes their opponents tired and old by association even though they're chronologically young. For those of you who cared (other than being insulted at the offensive remarks about Native Americans), I have a question: WHY?
June 2, 20169 yr comment_5755714 This is a mess. The Renegade Warriors come into frame, but only 2 of 3, and we never really find out who the 3rd one is. Totally lame and tasteless, and we must not forget that the Renegade Warriors are very terrible.
July 3, 20178 yr comment_5805932 Wasn't the mystery partner Little Richard? Anyway, useless segment, much like the 1990s 'Birds.
