Andre the Giant is Captain Lou's guest this week. They apparently think it's 1985, as Albano asks Andre what he thinks of John Studd calling himself a giant. He frames the entire interview around that. I think we get the point that he's the true giant, Lou.

Next up is John Tolos and Bob Orton. Tolos is managing Orton now. Quick spot.

Were they seriously going to bring Studd in at this point? Andre makes his point by tearing apart a John Studd LJN figure. I'd like to see him do that to the Bundy figure. This is all pretty cute, actually.

The Great Orton is in the Golden Greek's stable! I can just see someone scouting these promos in Titan Tower while trying to come up with a replacement for Heenan. "Stop drilling, we've hit oil!"

Even Herb Abrams couldn't seriously believe that Andre/Studd was still unsettled, could he? Given the relative health of both guys at this time, they should have had a match where the winner was the first man to get to the ring in one piece. Also, I know Albano is the master of hot air, but to say Andre can't be taken off his feet after the world saw Hogan slam him at Mania III? Even if you ignore all the other times Andre was put on the canvas after that (and there were many), that slam was the type of moment that would have made the front cover of Sports Illustrated if SI had been covering wrestling at the time. It can't be wiped out of the memory of anyone who saw it, and the fact that Abrams tried to do it (through Albano, of all people) shows just how delusional he was.

Tolos might have been a good addition to the WWF managerial group if he'd kept talking like he did here. Not a replacement for Heenan in any way, shape or form, but a good manager. Ace is a fine start to his UWF stable.
