Well lets see they finally made Kane interesting after months and months of this corporate Kane crap so that is a plus. Plus they can have a good reason to take Bryan off TV for a couple weeks while he spends time with the family. They had to do something because at this time last week nobody gave a shit about Kane vs Bryan at Extreme Rules

 

It sure did seem like Bryan was crying all the way down the ring while looking up in the sky. Guarantee that whole entrance was a tribute to his father

Corporate Kane was fun. 'The demon himself' Kane in a mask putting on monotonous beatdowns and having boring matches is the same shit they've been running for seventeen years. Not sure why anyone would relish Kane going back behind the mask.

Does anyone now? It's still clearly the #3 match on that show. 'Doing something' should have involved a video package detailing their history and some well written promo stuff followed by the physicality, rather than a generic heel attack.

I loved Sheamus/Barrett. Hopefully they'll refresh Sheamus with a heel turn and make him a monster again, but at least Barrett's on the right track finally.

WWE should have the wrestlers wear non-attire more often. Evolution look cool as fuck in their shirts and suits and waistcoats, adds to their aura immeasurably. How much better would Big E be if they cut to him lazing in the back in his slacks, rather than intently staring at a screen watching the match in a singlet clutching onto his belt. It looked really unnatural, and they can't even use they excuse they wanted to shift merch because he wasn't wearing a branded t-shirt or whatever.

Also what was with Bray cutting a total babyface promo?

The lines really are blurry these days. Bad News Barrett was pretty much working face on the mic and in the ring. Evolution are about the only truly total heels right now.

I thought some of it was good. Just too long.

Opening segment was kind of weird in a way The announcers were acting like Stephanie was feigning concern but she really seemed to want Kane to stop by screaming for 10 minutes. Then she was sarcastic again at the end.

They needed some talking time, if only to become more comfortable for when they become top singles guys down the line. Nothing in there was too bad, thought they came over quite well.

It sounded like HHH came down with a bad case of Laurinaitis.

I thought it started good and then dragged, and kinda ate (really smally) away at their aura of badness. But you are right, they do need the practice, and they'll learn how to hold attention better after that. It felt off for the characters at this point too, to me. I don't picture them as the guys that talk for that long instead of fighting someone right now. I don't think it was the death of the Shield or anything like that, at all, more a learning experience for everyone. Any "damage" done will be so small it won't matter at all.

And we have the start of the Rhodes break up

Sad to see the Rhodes having lost so much heat. Hopefully they can get the crowd into the split. Thought Usos/Rhodes was really fun for its length.

Ryback is the most underrated talker in wrestling.

Surprised the breakup was so low key. There wasn't even the traditional miscommunication leading to a defeat. Think they should maybe have pushed the button on this a couple of months back and ran the brother vs brother match at Wrestlmania, and then had a more heated rematch with a stipulation at Extreme Rules. As it is I'm not sure they can build the heat in time. They are making a mistake positioning Cody as the heel too, he is awful and ridiculously generic in that role, needs to be a fiery babyface against his bitter, devious veteran older brother.

Agreed, they should let him loose more often, very natural and funny. He is maybe the most underrated guy on the roster, improving in the ring all the time and genuinely charismatic. Almost reminds me of Steve Austin, stuck in stilted gimmicks for years but could really get hugely over if he is allowed to be himself and run with things.

Seemed pretty clear to me that's what the were doing. Goldust ever worked sort of dirty during the match.
