Unfortunately, me too. But the hope is that it at least takes a while, rather than cutting things off right as it's hitting a stride.

I'm normally an optimist with WWE, but after the past couple months, I assume Brock will come out and immediately get laid out by Adam Rose

it just hit me that the deal with Hunter and Steph reminded me of Ed Herrmann and Goldie Hawn from "Overboard"

Anyone else think Brock is interfering, Cesaro is assisting the beat down, and Cesaro "leaving" Heyman is a swerve because all three are now "Authority Guys"?

Everything went better than expected. Cesaro actually looked strong (and good) for the first time in a while.

Thank god none of us have memories longer than two years. Hell of a promo by Heyman, but it has a fatal flaw of not addressing the fact that Cena beat Brock before. It wouldn't be hard to explain away either. Just say it took Cena using a metal chain to beat Brock and that now he can't do that.

Paul Heyman should only manage Brock. He does a great job as his mouthpiece but has been complete garbage when paired with everybody else.

And it wasn't for the title so Brock wasn't as motivated or some BS like that.

 

They could've done a sick video package of the ER match showing Brock manhandling Cena and then Heyman saying that's nothing compared to what 2014 Brock will do to him and the rest of the WWE once he wins the Title.

 

 

And speaking of video packages. That promo by Paul E was the perfect set up for an amazing video preview for Summerslam.

I don't know about Stephanie as Vince's successor behind the camera, but it's amazing to see how much she's his successor in front of the camera. That was such a classic 1998 Vince effort tonight.

So according to Dave on the latest WO radio, WWE is retroactively saying Swagger tapped out to Rusev at the PPV and apparently that was the blowoff. Nice to see the former Iraqi Information Minister was able to land a new gig in the field of telling people what they saw isn't what really happened.

Where are they saying that and in what context?

"They" didn't mention anything about Swagger tapping on Raw AFAIK.

He claimed it was Lawler who said Swagger tapped out.

Because Lawler did say that, when they were showing the replay of Rusev putting him in the camel clutch.

I mean, perhaps Jerry just had a brain fart, but usually when that happens Vince screams in someone else's ear to jump all over them for it and that didn't happen.

One positive thing I can say about WWE at the moment is that, for whatever reason, the crowds have been pretty hot the last couple of months. I still find the 'Ambrose is the most over guy in the company' internet myth a bit puzzling.

 

Bit of a shame they're wasting their best act on Divas rubbish (Steph).

Who would you say is more over? I'd say Bryan is but he's not exactly active and I wouldn't argue if Reigns comes across as more over some time. Cena is Cena.

If Ambrose isn't, do you at least concede that the Ambrose/Rollins feud is the most over program going on?

 

A case could be made for Steph/Bellas, but about 45 seconds after the bell rings, I think we'll be hearing crickets. Cena/Lesnar's going to get great responses, but anything involving Lesnar is almost a "ringer" at this point (kinda like anything the Rock was involved in was automatically the "A Program"). This is why Bryan was so special - his feud with Cena (to me) overshadowed Punk/Lesnar and his feud with the Authority completely overshadowed the build to Taker/Lesnar, which even just a few months removed, seems untrue...but wasn't.

 

And if someone's going to chime in with Rusev/Swagger, one segment does not a "most over program" make. Ambrose/Rollins have been popping the crowd for weeks now, regardless of city and how "smart," "hot," "cold," "burnt out" or whatever audience they're working. I don't think Ambrose is threatening Cena as the number one merch mover or a top ratings draw yet, but I'm willing to wager that in a poll asking fans (before last night at least) what match they cared about most at SummerSlam, Rollins/Ambrose would've soundly whooped Reigns/Orton OR Reigns/Cena even, and Jericho/Wyatt or Rusev/Swagger would've barely registered.

Reigns is more over. Cena is. Ziggler could be argued either way. Uso's are close.

It will be interesting how Steph/Brie is booked. Steph has not worked a "real" match in 11 years but is no doubt in better shape now than when she was in her 20s. You could argue that with the months and months of this build up (if you count the Bryan stuff) Brie should kill her in short order. I don't think they go that route and have a 7-8 minute match and hope Steph can bring the heat with her heeling. In the back of my mind I think they might turn .Nikki heel to help Steph win

Actually, Stephanie might be the most over person in the company.
