the way they have been booking Cena all night and the opening when Flair and Shawn said he had no chance it sure seems like he's going to go over at the PPV

I am a civic minded gentleman and will accept any and all suggestions for what matches I am going to make goc watch when he loses the bet.

Strummer, I'm going to miss your PMSing over anything slightly negative about Daniel Bryan.

oh yeah what happened with Henry/Rusev/ Already dropped? That would have been awesome

Hopefully it was just a one-week detour to get Swagger-Bo going since Henry was in the main event. Usually the midcard falls apart during this time of the year, but they'll have my interest if we get Goldust as a heel and a Henry-Rusev program.

Even if you're putting Cena over at the PPV, I don't get why he's even able to walk right now.

He got his ass kicked, he didn't get run over by a train. It's perfectly acceptable. He got suplexed in a ring sixteen times not piledrived onto a concrete floor three times and then had blinding hair cream thrown in his face.

I actually felt the opposite. I thought they did a good job "re-building" Cena on RAW, to make him look strong and like he's coming back with a vengeance from the worst loss of his career, which is what they needed to do since they're rematching so quickly, but if anything it confirmed to me that Cena is going to lose again, in a more competitive match, but I seriously doubt that Lesnar isn't standing tall at the end of the night

Of course, it is Cena we're talking about, and in general when I feel like they might be doing something interesting or different with him it ends in disappointment. I find it insane that they would have Lesnar beat the streak and then dominate Cena but lose to him the next month, but my expectations are pretty low and stranger things have happened. I'm conditioned to expect the worst from their booking

The new branding of the Rhodes brothers as Gold and Stardust is one of those things that's going to irritate the piss out of me before too long. As if their "shootnames" are actually Gold Dust and Star Dust.

Pretty sure it's not supposed to be a secret that they're really the Rhodes brothers...

As much as I didn't like the promo, if Brock beats him and this was successful in creating doubt over the outcome when we look back on it, then it was the right call. I suspect it's more meta-booking where they had him act like he always does to troll the audience, and because they want people to think he's winning by acting like he always acts after losing. It's strange because I don't think at this point selling a show on the understood promise of John Cena beating Brock Lesnar is going to be very effective. Selling a show on Cena getting massacred again would probably work though.

It's not that, it's how they are announcing their gimmick names as if they were real names. It's just a typical unnecessary WWE thing they just started doing for no reason.

Regardless of who's winning next month, they goofed by not treating the beating as something out of the ordinary. Cena didn't have to look like he'd been in a car wreck. But he could've at least seemed shaken and in search of some kind of reboot. I just hate that they had the guts to do something striking in a big match and then squandered it by going so mundane. It feels creatively bankrupt.

This is the same promotion that has "the sons of Rikishi" Jimmy and Jay Uso and "the son of Curt Hennig" Curtis Axel / Michael McGillicutty.

Finally caught up to last night's Raw on DVR...and I really wish I hadn't.

Setting up a "Hall of Fame forum," just for the express purpose of talking about how John Cena has no chance at all in a rematch against Lesnar? (And a rematch that seems to have an alarming lack of heat, I might add.)

Rusev literally stomping Swagger into defeat while occasionally deciding to sell that pesky ankle injury?

Rollins turning what should have been a home run heel promo on Ambrose into a heatless "WHAT"-fest until Reigns showed up?

Goldust and Stardust turning heel, after months of rebuilding them as a face tag team, because the idea of a face vs. face tag match is terrifying to WWE creative? (And to little, if any, response?)

The Bella Twins having a Razzie-worthy segment with a truly dreadful "I wish you died in the womb" stinger from Nikki as the climax?

Feeding Bray Wyatt to John Cena in a squash-lite that was deliberately laid out to mimic the Cena/Lesnar fight, all while Harper and Rowan just frittered around on the outside, waiting for their cue? And then follow that with an impromptu six man tag where Cena effectively destroys the Wyatt Family on a hot tag for the finish?

Even with Brock Lesnar's fantastic pre-taped promo and the five-minute Miz/Sandow alliance, that was a candidate for the worst Raw of the year because the bad segments were REALLY bad. It's absolutely the worst Raw I can recall watching since I've started following the business again.

I'm going to take a break from modern WWE until Royal Rumble. NFL is getting ready to start & I can't even think of a football game between two bad teams on Monday that I would rather watch RAW over. Plus, after SummerSlam, this is the big "lull" during the WWE Calendar year. I still have so much other wrestling to watch, like old stuff (Nitros coming to WWE Network next week) in addition to NXT & NJPW, there's no reason I should keep sitting through shows that I'm completely apathetic toward.

Everything feels too samey for me right now.

Mike Johnson:

There are several people within WWE who feel that as Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy sees more success, it becomes more likely that we won't see Batista return to WWE as a full-time performer ever again.

When Batista left a few months ago, there was a belief that he would be back to continue his storyline once the media and appearances for Guardians was over but some are under the impression that it may not happen. Batista's future with the company was a hot topic backstage at this weekend's WWE live events.

There's also the risk of Batista getting injured now that his film career will be taking off. It's almost guaranteed that Batista will receive a lot more offers for movies because of his role in a blockbuster hit like Guardians. Batista is no longer seen as a guy who acts in indie movies and studios will be hesitant to cast him in movies if he's performing in a wrestling ring.

It's not like he really made any ounce of difference in his latest stint with the company. WWE already has Jericho and RVD doing the "drop in and out" thing.

I'm still bewildered at WWE's decision to give him the Rumble and the main event of Wrestlemania XXX. Even though they eventually succumbed and capitalised on the huge demand for Daniel Bryan, it's still mind boggling to consider that WWE really thought Orton vs. Batista would draw big for a milestone Mania. Evidently, Taker always wanted Lesnar this year, that ruled out Taker vs. Cena. Punk vs. Triple H may have worked as the main event with some long term booking, but not with the two months of rushed booking that they had at their disposal - not to mention people had to have had a feeling that Punk was going to leave around RR.

Wasn't the initial plan for a Sheamus heel turn and a match between him and Bryan? That definitely wasn't going to be anywhere except in the first three matches of the card. In the absence of the turn-around on Bryan, the only logical decision would have been to put on Lesnar vs. Taker last.
