There's some clipping, but not much, and it doesn't seem to cut out much. Dos' reputation from this period is as one of the all-time great workers. Given how good he was later in his career, I've always been inclined to believe that that's true, but this is the first match I've seen that really backs up that claim. It also makes a hell of a case for Enrique Vera, who I don't think I've even seen a full match of before, but who looked awesome here. This is a lucha title match, and consequently is very matwork heavy. It's very good matwork, too. Not the flashiest you'll see in lucha, but there is more of a struggle to it, and more guys cranking things in than you usually get in your Solar/Navarro "gentlemen's game"-type matches. They kick up the pace later in the match and throw in some nice, higher impact stuff for good measure, including some swank dropkicks and a crossbody off of the apron by Vera, and a nasty piledriver from Dos. I really got a kick out of this. It seems like an 80's Lucha set wouldn't be complete without at least one really good Dos Caras match. I think this fits the bill. Easy nomination.

UWA World Heavyweight Title: Enrique Vera © vs. Dos Caras (2/26/84)

Again we get clipping but man this was a really great match. They worked this in the title style so you get plenty of awesome matwork with both guys being great especially Vera who really impressed me here as Dos was one of the best guys in the world at this time and Vera was hanging with him move for move. They would pick up the pace towards the end and it was very solid especially the piledriver by Dos which was awesome. The stretch run was really good too and this is a very easy nomination.
