NWA Main Event 1/1/89 The Texas Broncos (Dustin Rhodes & Kendall Windham) vs. Mike Jackson & Max Miles (12/15/88) Squash. "Beautiful" Bobby Eaton vs. "Ravishing" Randy Rose (12/15/88) This is a battle at the bell as Eaton runs to the ring where he starts teeing off on Randy leading to Corny jumping in wanting to fight Paul. Eaton looks good early including hitting an armdrag on Randy who was jumping off the top rope. Eaton does a lot of armwork here that gets intensified when Rose rams shoulder first into the post and to the floor where he eats a racket shot. The tide would turn when Eaton would get hit by the phone during a chase on the floor allowing Rose to take over. Rose would try to hit a Vader Bomb on Eaton but he ate all knees allowing Eaton to make a comeback ending with a lame double KO and Paul putting Rose on top as Teddy Long pulled Cornette out but Corny put Eaton on top as Long ran out Paul to win. Fun stuff mainly because of the managers which was more important than the match.
