NWA World Heavyweight Title: Ric Flair © vs. Michael "PS" Hayes (12/2/87) This is Flair's first defense on TBS in almost 2 years. Flair & Hayes was always a fun matchup for me as it was like watching the Nature Boy against the Redneck Nature Boy. Flair tries to take Hayes to the mat to start but Hayes counters everything so they kick up a notch with Hayes staying on top keeping Flair at bay but the problem is we get a clip and miss Flair on offense. We come back and Hayes is really taking it to Flair throwing some really good punches before Flair drops the knee over his to setup the figure-four. Flair locks it and grabs the ropes as the fans go nuts before releasing it and going back on offense. Flair kept up the pressure until his head hit Hayes' which turned the tide with Hayes hitting a big DDT for a nearfall. Hayes is really fun here taking it to Flair who bumps and sells like he always does as the punches are flying. Hayes would hit the bulldog and has Flair down but Flair gets his foot on the rope with Hayes thinking he had it won but Flair would chunk him to the floor. Hayes comes back with a sunset flip and the show goes off as Bill Alphonso counted two............that was one of the cheapest endings ever. Fun match and with a finish would've been a nomination but no finish. World Champonship Wrestling 11/21/87 Dusty starts out with a promo about how he was going to beat Luger at Starrcade. The New Breed (Chris Champion & Sean Royal) vs. David Isley & Terry Jones (11/21/87) Standard fun New Breed squash with Champion almost hitting his head on the ceiling with a diving axehandle to the floor. Sean Royal using the Scorpion Deathlock as a transition hold here as Sting who is also on the roster uses it as his finisher was funny. We also get a fun New Breed promo afterwards. Luger & Dillon come out next for a promo and a retort to Dusty as well as Dillon calling the War Games the TRUE Survivor Series which was great. Mike Rotundo vs. Tommy Angel (11/21/87) Easy win for Mike. Sting vs. Cougar Jay (11/21/87) Squash and wins with the Stinger Splash not the Scorpion here. Sting gives a promo afterwards about Starrcade. Barry Windham comes out next for a promo about Zbyszko. Kevin Sullivan vs. Alan Martin (11/21/87) Total squash. "Dr. Death" Steve Williams vs. Thunderfoot #2 (11/21/87) Squash and a promo afterwards. Ricky Santana is out next wearing a pink blazer with a lavender tie looking mighty spiffy talking about Starrcade. Rick Steiner vs. Ricky Nelson (11/21/87) Steiner was a damn beast here. I loved this Steiner....the angry powerful asskicker. Sullivan is back out for a promo about Starrcade praising Flair, Doc, & Dusty. The Midnight Express ("Beautiful" Bobby Eaton & "Sweet" Stan Lane) vs. Rex King & Mac McGiver (11/21/87) Your usual fun MX squash and promo afterwards. Cornette was so awesome here talking about the Skywalkers and R&R. Flair is out next pimping the Danger Zone video and the calendar that comes with it featuring Missy Hyatt then talks about regaining the title from Garvin and loving the Horsemen fans. The Road Warriors (Animal & Hawk) vs. Dale Laperhouse & Curtis Thompson (11/21/87) Destruction and a promo afterwards. "Living Legend" Larry Zbyzko vs. Larry Stephens (11/21/87) Squash and a promo afterwards. The Jive Tones (Tiger Conway Jr. & Shaska Whatley) vs. El Negro & B.T. Washington (11/21/87) Interesting seeing 4 black guys against each other and a fun promo afterwards from Shaska. "Hot Stuff" Eddie Gilbert vs. George Fox (11/21/87) Easy win for Eddie. Nikita is out next wearing a fucking Bunkhouse Stampede trucker hat!!!!!!!!!!! for a promo. Terry Taylor vs. Bob Emory (11/21/87) Squash and a promo afterwards.
