This is worth taking a look at. It's a title match with Kilby defending his British Heavy-Middleweight against Moran in lieu of Finlay, who was written out of the match as being in Japan for whatever reason. This was only Moran's second television appearance, but he was a more than adequate substitute for his Belfast stablemate. The best Alan Kilby is a fired up Alan Kilby and Moran goads him through the majority of this bout. They even do that great bit of schtick where neither man makes it back to his corner during rounds and then Kilby starts delivering the beastly forearm smashes. The finish is great as Moran takes a spill to the outside, which is usually an injury finish in WoS, but he makes it back to the ring and does some punch drunk selling, ala the very best heels, until Kilby knocks him out cold. Kilby's fired up post-match celebration adds insult to injury and you can imagine the conversation the Finlay stable had about this one when it was over. The only regrettable thing about this was that it ended. Very enjoyable.

  • GSR changed the title to [1983-06-28-Joint Promotions] Alan Kilby vs. Rocky Moran
