Embry and Pritchard demand that they show footage of what happened to Jackie Fargo Monday night at Mid South Coliseum. Dave doesn't want to play it because he says it's not up to production standards. Insert your own jokes. After Fargo pins Tojo, Team Texas (Embry, Pritchard and the Texas Hangmen) hit the ring.

Typical Memphis booking which is good stuff.

I can't believe Fargo is still wrestling, even if it's basically against a manager. Embry & Prichard lay him out afterward and Embry shoves the Texas title in his face. They gloat for a bit and then hit the ring to prepare to do the same to Danny Davis.

Embry thinks Fargo won’t show his face again after getting laid out by the Texans. I wanted to see more of what Yanemoto could do as when the ring fills up he's barely able to direct traffic.

I like the gloating Texas duo but man that footage did look like I was on an acid trip.

Anytime Embry says "retired" it sounds like "retard". Just another pet peeve I have against this bloated frog of a man. You all like him, I know. I dont.

I don't know what really happened to the tape, but it came across almost like a steel cage effect. I had to rewind to see Embry shove the Texas belt in Fargo's face, which I don't think the announcers mentioned.

 

I don't know how good Fargo was in the match, but it told me something that Lawler had to assist him in getting the winning fall. It reminded me a bit of how the British Bulldogs gave the winning fall to Captain Louis Albano in his final match after wrestling the entire bout themselves because Capper had no business whatsoever in the ring. (He pinned Johnny Valiant, whose partners were Greg Valentine and Brutus Beefcake.)

 

I got a kick out of Embry and Dave going back and forth almost like a parent and child over him (or was it Prichard?) having to wrestle Danny Davis. Eric was like a child whining "Do we have to?" and Dave told him that they did in no uncertain terms. Yet another moment that could only happen in Memphis.

 

It's sort of ironic that when it comes to footage of Fargo's beating, it's the babyfaces (in the person of Dave) who try to get out of showing it because they claim that it's not up to broadcast standard. I've never seen a face use a patented heel excuse like that before. If it had been Embry asked to show footage of a match where he lost the Texas title and he refused because it wasn't up to standard, Dave would have raised all kinds of hell. A second "Only in Memphis" moment.

I was thinking the same about that excuse garetta. Embry and Dave's interactions put a smile on my face here. Gloating about beating up a long retired Jackie Fargo is certainly a good way to ensure heel heat. Typical Memphis stuff I agree, but spun right afterwards for the best effect.
