March 31, 201312 yr Author comment_5540476 Eddie Marlin has asked Bill Dundee and Eric Embry to come to a boardroom. Embry has a sunglass-clad Miss Texas and Tojo in his corner. There was a disputed finish between these two recently, and it looks like Marlin is here to resolve it. He doesn't really get far, as this is a pretty big shouting match. Strange, I would have thought these two to be level-headed, reasonable gentlemen. They sign a contract for another match, and once again, Embry is feuding with every babyface he can find. Perhaps he was doing this to prepare to fire Eddie Gilbert, as we're not far from the end of Eddie's Memphis run. On a side note, it seems weird that Eddie Marlin doesn't have his own Wikipedia page.
April 3, 201312 yr comment_5540808 Not only is it a disputed finish, but it was supposed to be a LLT match. So they decide a do over is in order. This is treating your audience like dummies.
April 5, 201312 yr comment_5541110 Embry's "retired" Lawler, and laid out Jarrett, Keirn, and Gilbert...and he's forced Bill Dundee out of the USWA for 30 days. Okay, I can see the criticism about Embry feuding with everybody. The decision is disputed however, leading to a board meeting with Dundee, Embry, Eddie Marlin, Miss Texas, Tojo Yamamoto, and Paul Neighbors all in attendance. The controversy revolves around a dazed Paul Neighbors raising Dundee's hand after counting a pinfall on him. Seems pretty cut-and-dried to me, actually: Embry won, Dundee needs to take a hike. Embry's tantrums are always fun, though. And just how many shots of Jack did Neighbors down before this?
May 1, 201312 yr comment_5543534 Nice table. Looks like it is moss covered. Marlin is trying to discuss issues with a loser leaves USWA match between Dundee and Embry that has a disputed finish. There is no tape of this match though. Marlin proposes a rematch with same stipulations. So much for the first match. I need a spreadsheet to keep track of all Embry’s feuds.
July 6, 201312 yr comment_5550120 That table bottom looks like recovered Titantic wreckage. This goes about as expected but yeah last week we see Embry vs. Jarrett, Gilbert, and Kiern plus him referencing Lawler being gone. This week he is in a heated dispute with Dundee so it seems like overkill.
May 26, 201510 yr comment_5670012 Embry has a point: Since when are the Memphis area matches not on tape? Of course, the answer is that they didn't want Embry seen pinning Dundee, by means fair or foul, in a loser-leaves-town match. Embry's laid out every other face in the territory and made them ineffectual, so they need someone to fight him until Lawler gets back, which should be happening soon. So they claim the first match never happened and get it wiped off the books, which is a novel type of screwjob for this feud, and the Dundee/Embry issue can keep running for as long as needed until Lawler's ready to go. Not necessarily fair booking, but smart booking, which hasn't happened often in this whole mess. Embry's whining about the Tennessee referees may be in character, but it sounds ridiculous considering that those same referees and other officials have chosen not to suspend him for all the postmatch attacks he's pulled since he's been in Memphis, not to mention his assault on Eddie Marlin himself a few weeks back, I'm surprised Dave hasn't mentioned this to him during an interview yet.
November 17, 20177 yr comment_5820665 This segment is pretty ridiculous. I suppose that's what happens when the wrong guy gets the book and pretty much botches the whole thing to make himself look good.
