Part 1:

Part 2:

This is much better. The start rules with Backlund using a belt to whip the living shit out of Orton and choke him. This is a nice callback to their first match where Orton won by countout after choking Backlund with a belt. Orton whips Backlund in the eye with the belt at one point which ruled. Backlund starts sending Orton to the floor who keeps getting pampered by Grand Wizard and the heel lumberjacks until the faces show up and shove him back in. His control segment starts with an inverted atomic drop that was a questionable low blow followed by a stomp to Backlund below the belt-line with similar intentions. Orton is methodical in his offense but every one of his moves were impactful and looked like they hurt like shit. He sends Backlund to the floor at one point where a mini brawl breaks out between Backlund and a heel. Backlund soon gets sent back in and Orton just viciously stomps him in the side of the head. He follows that up with a really awesome back breaker that looked devastating. That was a great sequence there. Meanwhile, Orton is getting into it with Ivan Putski on the floor every now and then and kicking and swinging at him. Putski pisses him off after the back breaker so Orton kicks at him and almost starts a fight. This leads into Backlunds comeback which was a lot of fun and consisted of two really great near falls from a second rope clothesline and a second rope Thesz press. The match ends on a crisscross spot where Putski trips up Orton and Backlund flips over onto Orton in a pin attempt for the win. Orton is livid afterwards and has a fun little pull apart brawl with Putski on the floor. This was a much better match than the first in my opinion. The opening minutes ruled, Orton was good on offense, and the finishing sequence was strong. Good stuff.

This feels like a low-end nomination to me. The opening is hot with Bob just whipping Orton with a belt. Lumber jacks are pretty active in this. I really enjoyed how the heels played it . I also enjoyed Orton's stooging in this. Orton's offense looks really crisp in his control srgment. Some odf Bpb's bumps looked like the timing was off. Orton's abdominal stretch with Adonis help was really well done. Orton's big bump to the corner was massive and he even set himself up for a Backlund press slam off the top. The finishing run is hot. A great crossbody for 2 by Backlund. Backlund from the top rope with a Thesz press gets 2. Putski trips Orton up for the 3.

I watched this 13 years ago. Wow. Good match that holds up some. I maintain most of my thoughts on this other than I did feel I wanted more meat on the heat section this time around. Orton’s bumping is great. The spot where Backlund punches Orton in the nose is awesome. Ivan Putski trips up Orton which costs Cowboy Bob the match. Putski & Bob go at it afterwards. This is still worth taking a look at, but it’s got stiff competition.

LOW END NOMINATION
