Posted February 13, 201312 yr comment_5535055 Loser Gets 20 Lashes: "Wildfire" Tommy & Johnny "Crash" Rich vs. The Nightmares (Danny Davis & Ken Wayne) (10/21/85) Rich's come out to Wild Eyed Southern Boy by .38 Special which is great. Starts out with a brawl but settles into a normal southern tag match. Rich's are very fun here taking control with Tommy being very agile and Johnny cranking a nice headlock. Nightmares of course are great bumpers and sellers and the basically the perfect southern tag heel opponents. Johnny gets isolated and gets his ass kicked with the Nightmares working fast and furious here including a perfect gourdbuster by Danny Davis. Johnny's plight to get the hot tag was very fun and then Tommy gets in and runs wild with a 4-way brawl going on. Ken Wayne had a great bump over the top to the floor off a Wildfire punch before Danny Davis rolled up Tommy which Johnny stopped the referee at 2 and pointed out that was the wrong Nightmare. The ref then stopped and Tommy rolled up Davis to get the win. Davis gets handcuffed to the post and the Rich's lay the leather on until Wayne fouls Rich and nails the referee. He gets the key and unlocks Davis then puts the handcuffs on Tommy but Johnny stops that. This went about 10 minutes but was a total blast and a nomination to me. Next we get promos by Bullet, Brad, Soto, Flame, Fuller, & Golden. The Bullet, Brad Armstrong, & Roberto Soto vs. The Flame, "Luscious" Robert Fuller, & Boomer H. Lynch (11/18/85) Fuller is fun here getting his ass kicked while Brad is a house of fire on everyone. Soto & Bullet get their bombs in here and we even get the Tennessee Stud taking his jacket off wanting to get some. Soto works FIP and gets his ass kicked before getting two flying headscissors leading to the hot tag to Bullet and the war is on as everyone are getting shots in along with the Stud. Bullet locks on the figure-four on Robert but Stud runs in for the DQ. Robert loads up the boot but Brad pulls his foot and Bullet gets the figure-four on Stud. Fun match and even better aftermatch and I'm throwing this on the block as a low-end pick. Next we get a news clip with Eric Clemons soon to be on ESPN showing Adrian Street & Miss Linda visiting a sick child in a hospital in Mobile which was out of character since he was a heel here. This is a slam dunk extra. Solie starts the next show with Ron West talking about being the house show promoter and the injury to Roy Lee Welch. "Wildfire" Tommy & Johnny "Crash" Rich vs. Larry Clark & The Inferno (12/30/85) Squash with the Nightmares now unmasked attacking the Rich's afterwards including a tar and feather job on Johnny. This is extra material. The next show starts with clips of Norvell beating Street for the Southeastern title on 1/6/86. US Jr. Heavyweight Title: "White Lightning" Tim Horner © vs. Ken Timbs (1/13/86) It took a while for Horner to come to the area but he was a great addition and he looked very good here on offense and defense. Timbs looks like a homeless man's Buddy Rose in a way here looks wise but not work wise although he did a good job on offense. Horner makes a fun comeback before locking on an inside cradle to win. Very fun TV match and a low-end nomination. Street is out next and is pissed about losing his title. Then we get promos from Lynch, Street, Norvell, & Maxine. The Nightmares (Danny Davis & Ken Wayne) © vs. Lee Peak & Roberto Soto (1/13/86) Soto teamed with a jobber and now we have a bald Danny Davis. This is clipped to the finish. Next we get clips of Davis getting his head shaved with the Rich's on commentary. Nightmares cut a promo in retort and Ken Wayne is putting his hair up next then they roll out the Rich poster but it's bald. Extra material. Then we get promos by Bullet, Brad, Soto, Fuller, Lynch, & Olympia. Solie starts the next show going over the clips of the Bullet/Brad/Soto vs. Flame/Fuller/Lynch match from 11/18/85 with Stud getting injured. Solie also calls Bullet.....Bullet Armstrong here. Robert comes out with Flame & Lynch and they vow revenge saying they will cripple Brad. The Bullet & Brad Armstrong vs. The Executioner & Amos Moses (11/18/85) AMOS MOSES!!!!! what a great heel name. This is a squash. Next we get promos from the Stud's and Bullet, Brad, & Soto. US Jr. Heavyweight Title: Roy Lee Welch © vs. Ken Timbs (11/18/85) Timbs starts the match taking a wild bump over the top ringpost to the floor and Welch kicks his ass on the floor. Welch would continue the work in the ring but injures his left arm and Timbs works it over vigorously. Welch has some good hope spots here and makes a good comeback but Timbs would cut back an O'Connor Roll using the tights to win the title. This is a borderline nomination to me as it was a good match but nothing spectacular. I'll throw it on the block for extra viewing. Next we have promos from Nightmares and Brad/Bullet. Then we get clips of Norvell/Street from 11/18/85 which saw the debut of Candi Divine. "Exotic" Adrian Street & Miss Linda vs. Norvell Austin & Candi Divine (11/18/85) There was more work from the women here than the men which was surprising and this had some good spots but too clunky. I did love Street giving Candi a big piledriver though for the finish after Candi kissed him on the mouth. Next we get promos by Lynch, Street, Timbs, Norvell, Soto, & Welch. "Wildfire" Tommy & Johnny "Crash" Rich vs. Pablo Crenshaw & Mike Nichols (11/18/85) PABLO! and this is a squash. Then we get promos from Nightmares & Rich's about their upcoming hair dye match.
October 8, 201311 yr comment_5566716 Loser Gets 20 Lashes: "Wildfire" Tommy & Johnny "Crash" Rich vs. The Nightmares (Danny Davis & Ken Wayne) This was a low-end nomination to me. I'm a huge mark for this stip. We open up with a quick brawl to start, but it settles down into your Southern Tag. We start out with Tommy Rich doing the shine. This was alright but nothing exceptional. The Nightmares are good at eating rich's stuff, but it was little ho hum. I love Johnny's punches , but eventually he's cut off and becomes the FIP. The Nightmares work over his gut area playing into the injury. This was done and such a douchey move. Crash makes the hot tag and we Tommy is great here. We move onto a pretty fun fucked up finish. Post match was great. Low-end nomination. The Bullet, Brad Armstrong, & Roberto Soto vs. The Flame, "Luscious" Robert Fuller, & Boomer H. Lynch I liked this one, but feel it misses the mark as a nomination. All the faces had a chance to shine and they all looked great. On the heel side Fuller was amazing at getting his ass kicked. Flame was awesome eating Soto's flying head scissors. I thought Lynch looked so mediocre. Armstrong looked so athletic in this bout. His drop kick is a thing of beauty only matched by his punches. My main complaint is that the faces took about 90% of the match which felt unneeded. The post match was pretty great. The Adrian Street visiting the sick girl in the hospital as a heel was really touching and a slam dunk extra. US Jr. Heavyweight Title: "White Lightning" Tim Horner © vs. Ken Timbs This has some fun elements and feels like a low-end nomination. Timbs is quite the bump taker. I dug how he worked over Horner's neck with the ropes. Horner is a good worker and he is here. I thought the finish was pretty great. This bout makes me want to see more Timbs. US Jr. Heavyweight Title: Roy Lee Welch © vs. Ken Timbs This was a sold match but falls short for me. I dug Timbs bumps again. The one to the floor was huge. Him working over Welch's arm was good stuff. He really likes to use the ropes to work a body part if you look at his 2 matches on this disc. Everything else on the disc is fine for what it is.
