The VQ here is subpar.

 

Well this starts out with Solie & Charlie Platt talking about Prichard cutting DWB's hair and this brings out the Dirty White Girl who has a black eye. Solie is great here as she wants Prichard to come out but he refuses.

 

Next we get a paid promo by Robert Fuller about getting revenge on Dutch Mantell for injuring Golden.

 

"Dirty" Dutch Mantell vs. The Red Devil (4/18/88)

 

Dutch never takes his shirt off and kills this guy. Dutch cuts a promo afterwards about being free from the Stable. Detroit Demolition (Randy Culley) comes down and starts brawling with Dutch until Robert Fuller dressed as Lord Humongous runs out to batter Dutch.

 

Then we get promos from Danny Davis & The Southern Boys.

 

Next we get a promo from Bill Kazmeier about his hand injury.

 

DWG comes back out wanting to talk to Tom so this time Solie goes and gets him which works. Prichard said that he doesn't want to get involved and said he tried to tell her to stay away from DWB. She begs and pleads with Tom to help her which brings out DWB who nails him with a steel chair while DWG celebrates. DWB destroys the stage and Prichard at the same time before handcuffing him and tying a rope around his neck then dragging him around while Solie & Platt try to regroup on the stage. They drag Prichard to the ring where the hang him over the rope and this is an insane angle. Slam dunk extra and I hope we get this in better VQ.

 

Hot Stuff is out next for a promo and he is new to the territory on the booking end and wrestling end. Solie wants to show clips of Gilbert burning Lawler but the director on mic tells Gordon that the tape is missing.

 

DWB & DWG then come back out and celebrate destroying Prichard and Solie denies them the chance to speak.

 

Continental Tag Titles: The Southern Boys (Steve Armstrong & Tracy Smothers) © vs. DI Bob Carter & Detroit Demolition (Randy Culley) (4/18/88)

 

Southern Boys look good here but their opponents aren't quite up to task especially Carter. Culley did fine but it wasn't enoughj to make up for his shitty partner. This is clipped up anyway.

 

Next we get a promo by Downtown Bruno & Lord Humongous recruiting Detroit Demolition to be on their side.

 

The next show starts with Jack Curtis who is the General Manager of the promotion and he has announced that Continental Championship Wrestling will now become Continental Wrestling Federation and they have aligned up with the AWA so they will recognize Curt Hennig as their world champion. Curtis has also declared all the singles titles vacant and will have a tourney to create a new CWF Heavyweight champion instead of having three singles titles. Curtis also said that he has a deal with the Memphis office as well. This is a definite extra.

 

Prichard is out next cutting a great revenge promo on DWB & DWG.

 

Then we get a video of Missy Hyatt as of course she is coming into the area with Gilbert.

 

Next is the Warrior video for Lawler.

 

Then Downtown Bruno is out with his charges Detroit Demolition & Lord Humongous for a promo. DWB wants to come out but Solie cuts him off.

 

Hot Stuff is out saying he is in Continental to stay and they happen to find the video of Gilbert burning Lawler.

 

Jack Curtis starts the next show saying that DWB & Prichard can't be on TV together and then takes Dutch Mantell's Continental title. Dutch announces the Stud Stable is gone except for Robert and he will send him packing next. Then we get a paid promo by Robert about this situation.

 

Next we get a video for Austin Idol who is returning to the area.

 

Then we get a promo by DI Bob Carter & Mark Young and he wants to induct Young into the Honor Guard.

 

Next we get a promo by Dutch and referee Ed Faulk about his situation with Alan Martin and there is a promo by Bruno in retort.

 

Then we get clips of the whole Ed Faulk deal with Alan Martin replacing him as referee for a match with Cooley & Humongous with Martin getting involved. Faulk then gives an interview and gets attacked by Alan Martin & Bruno.

 

Next we get a promo by Prichard about his war with DWB.

 

Paul E. Dangerously makes his debut in the area and announces that he has formed an alliance with Hot Stuff. This is a definite extra.

 

"Hot Stuff" Eddie Gilbert vs. The Grappler (not Len Denton) (5/1/88)

 

Easy win for Gilbert as Paul E. is on commentary.

 

Ken Wayne makes his return to the territory on the next show with his newly won US Jr. Heavyweight Title but wants the tag titles with Danny. Wayne is full of himself and Danny doesn't get much of a chance to talk. The writing is on the wall.

 

Solie & Platt talk about Wendell Cooley missing bookings which meant he had jumped to USA Wrestling.

 

DI Bob Carter & Mark Young are out next and Young said he would join the Honor Guard if he lost to DWB.

 

"Dirty" Dutch Mantell vs. Alan Martin (5/1/88)

 

Dutch takes Cooley's place here. Martin is wearing referee tights and the match is okay before Dutch wins. Demolition & Humongous jumps Dutch afterwards until Danny Davis comes out but he gets overwhelmed.

 

Then we get a promo by Bruno and his charges afterwards.

 

They air the Missy video again.

 

Continental Tag Titles: The Southern Boys (Steve Armstrong & Tracy Smothers) © vs. The Nightmares (Danny Davis & Ken Wayne) (5/1/88)

 

This is a babyface match and the action is fast and furious from the start as both teams are bouncing around the ring hitting spots and not doing respect matwork. They go to a break but it doesn't look like we missed much. There were some cool exchanges here with Smothers looking especially sharp. We get another break but again don't miss much and the action continues to be good......but the disc runs out.

No matches make it as a nom though the Southern Boys vs. Nightmares was on it's way until the disc ends.

 

The whole hair cutting and the DWB/DWG/Pritchard angle is a slam dunk extra!!!

 

The Jack Curtis stuff is extra stuff.

 

Of course all the video's are extra. Missy Hyatt in a bathing suit in the 80's is never wrong.
