Posted February 18, 201312 yr comment_5535960 This starts with clips of Douglas vs. Detroit Demolition with Humongous getting involved and jumping Demo allowing Douglas to win. Then we see Humongous getting blinded from the week before and clips of Shane bringing him to the babyface lockerroom for medical attention. Next we get clips of a Danger Zone with Austin Idol with Paul E. offering up $50,000 to keep Idol on retainer but he tore it up and walked out. This leads to clips of Idol posing with kids in the ring in Birmingham. Paul then comes out here and tries to get Idol to join him again this time for $100,000 but again he is rebuffed. Idol tears up the check again which causes Paul to rip his family and Idol to jack his jaw. Gilbert runs out and takes a shot as well. This was good stuff and a definite extra. "Universal Heartthrob" Austin Idol vs. Black Assassin (Bill Tabb) (5/29/88) Idol wins easily then goes after Paul again but Gilbert throws powder in his eyes. Idol fights back though but he eventually gets tied to a steel chair and Gilbert cuts some of his hair until Mr. Olympia runs out to make the save. Then we get clips of Hert/Pyle from the week before. Next we get clips of DI Carter & Detroit Demolition taking the Continental tag titles from the Nightmares as Ken Wayne turns on Danny Davis on 5/29/88. Definite extra for the turn. "Nightmare" Ken Wayne vs. Rikki Nelson (6/5/88) This is clipped. Davis would run out after the match and beat Wayne bloody. Wayne cuts a promo next and wants to apologize to everyone saying that he would give up his US Jr. Heavyweight Title to keep their friendship so Davis eventually comes out. Davis wants Wayne to give the title to Jack Curtis to prove himself which Wayne agrees to do but as they walked off Wayne would post Danny then took him back to the ring where he beat him bloody. This is a phenomenal angle and a slam dunk extra. DI Bob Carter & Detroit Demolition (Randy Culley) vs. The Baron & Lee Peak (6/5/88) Squash and a promo afterwards with Carter saying that Willie B. Hert should be named Watermelon Willie. Charlie Platt then comes out with a present for the heels and it's the ink stained Humongous mask with a note for Demo to look and then Humongous shows up to send them running. Next we get a great promo from Idol about the Gilbert situation then a retort from Paul E. & Gilbert. Olympia then comes out and cuts a promo about this as well with Paul coming out wanting Jerry Stubbs to come back since he is Paul's type of guy. BROTHER ERNEST ANGEL shows up in Continental and he is the manager of Kokina & Sika as the Wild Samoans. Sika vs. The Blue Cyclone (6/5/88) This ended in seconds. The Southern Boys (Steve Armstrong & Tracy Smothers) vs. Alan Martin & Private Pyle (6/5/88) Southern Boys win easily to close the show. Continental Tag Titles: DI Bob Carter & Detroit Demolition (Randy Culley) © vs. Jeff Jarrett & Willie B. Hert (6/5/88) Fun seeing Jarrett here. This is a decent match that goes to a DQ when Private Pyle gets involved. Humongous would run out to clean house. Paul E. is back out and cuts a great promo on Idol with Gilbert sending a taped promo. $10,000 Golden Challenge: "Hot Stuff" Eddie Gilbert vs. Mr. Olympia (6/5/88) Gilbert comes out on crutches but bashes Pee Wee Anderson with one and Olympia with the other as Olympia is talking to Paul E. on the floor. Gilbert comes off the top rope with the crutch on the arm until the faces make the save. Extra material. Danny Davis is out for a promo about the turn from last week and this is damn good as he wants a match with Wayne next week. Wayne sends a taped promo in retort. Next we get promos by DI Bob Carter & Detroit Demolition along with Paul E. Sika vs. Lee Peak (6/5/88) Brother Ernest Angel is on commentary and pimps his Wrestling Village USA that he is building. This is hilarious. Then we get clips of a DWB/Prichard match. This was the hottest feud in the territory when Gilbert came in and then he put himself over the feud downgrading it. Bambi would make her debut here joining Prichard in his war with DWB & DWG. Next we get a promo from Willie B. Hert about him getting whipped by DI Bob Carter & Detroit Demolition and he has his own strap now. Dr. Tom Prichard vs. The Destroyer (6/19/88) Doc now has Bambi at ringside with him and we get a promo afterwards. Sika vs. Les Freeman (6/19/88) Squash and Kokina gets his shots in after the match.
October 22, 201311 yr comment_5568453 Their are no matches that deserve nomination. The whole Douglas/Demolition going into the babyface locker room was a good bit and extra material. The angle of Idol rejecting the Dangerous Alliance is extra stuff. $10,000 Golden Challenge: "Hot Stuff" Eddie Gilbert vs. Mr. Olympia (6/5/88) This is an angle with Gilbert out on crutches. This is a nice piece of business and an extra. We get a beginning and the end of a DWB and Tom Pritchard match that is shown. What they show, you really wish this was in full. This isn't a brawl per say, but a real good looking meat and potatoes match that tells a story. The post match is hot as well. If we are doing a DWB vs. Tom Pritchard feud extra this should go on it.
