Shane Douglas, Tim Horner, & Lord Humongous vs. Tony Anthony & The New Nightmares (9/4/88)

This is JIP and a fun match as Douglas was really good at working FIP while Humongous was on fire after getting the hot tag and we even got a dropkick by the future Sid Vicious. Hot Stuff then runs out for the DQ but Johnny Rich runs out to make the save and this was a very fun segment. Extra material but not a nomination.

Next we get some WWF stuff.

Then we get promos from the Nightmares about their upcoming singles match on TV.

Ron West is out and says that Alan Martin will leave town if the Wild Samoans don't win the Continental Tag Titles on the Road to Birmingham show on 10/3/88. (9/18/88)

Shane Douglas & Lord Humongous vs. Deuce Mason & Bucky Seigler (9/18/88) Easy win for the champs and they cut a promo afterwards.

US Jr. Heavyweight Title: "Nightmare" Ken Wayne © vs. "Nightmare" Danny Davis (9/18/88) Nelson Royal comes out before the match and shakes Wayne's hand then talks shit to Davis and leaves. This was a good match but I was expecting better from these two especially in such a heated feud so I'm going no on a nomination but I did like the chain stealing finish.

Next we get promos from the Nightmares vowing to shave each other bald.

Then we get a serious Eddie Gilbert out talking about his "injury" issues and says that he may not wrestle again. Gilbert pulls out the $25,000 check that no one could pin him to get and he gives Charlie Platt the check saying to give it to anyone they feel is worthy. Gilbert then announces that if he doesn't win the Road to Birmingham then he would retire. Well....he no-showed that show and went to work for the NWA. Slam dunk extra.

Jerry Stubbs vs. Dr. Tom Prichard (9/18/88) Stubbs is back heel again with his new hair and Pedicino/Platt spend the whole match talking about the Gilbert promo. Prichard has Stubbs ready to get beaten when DWB & The New Nightmares run out for the DQ until Austin Idol makes the save with a steel bar.

Paul E. is out with his Dangerous Alliance afterwards and announces that DWB is the newest member of the group and Pedicino asks Paul about the situation with Gilbert where Paul actually uses his real name to talk seriously about Gilbert and it ends up with Paul ripping Gilbert for breaking down physically. Nightmare Freddy then gets pissed and walks off which proved that he was Doug Gilbert. Stubbs then comes down wanting to be a member of the Alliance but Paul said that he has to prove himself and Pedicino tells Paul he is disgusted by him. Slam dunk extra.

Doug Furnas then comes out for a match with Dutch Mantell but Stubbs attacks him with a coat rack before Dutch chases Stubbs off with Shoobaby.

"Dirty" Dutch Mantell vs. Pat Rose (9/18/88) Pat takes Doug's place and promptly gets squashed.

Next we get promos from Idol & Paul E. about the Road to Birmingham.

Then we get Missy's Manor with The Party Patrol.

The show then ends with DWB squashing a guy.

The next show starts with The Bullet promising to get the Dirty White Girl.

Davey Rich vs. Private Pyle (10/2/88) Davey coming out to Pour Some Sugar On Me is great.

Bullet then comes out for a promo about DWB who then comes out demanding Bullet come into the ring which he does.

The Bullet vs. "Dirty White Boy" Tony Anthony (10/2/88) This was an okay match nothing special that goes to a cheap DQ finish because the cat of 9 tails was brought in the ring. Stubbs would help DWB beat down Bullet until the Party Patrol made the save.

The Party Patrol (Davey & Johnny Rich) vs. Deuce Mason & Pat Rose (9/18/88) Squash.

Grappler #2 vs. Dr. Tom Prichard (10/2/88) Ken Wayne is on commentary here as Dr. Tom was going for the US Jr. title but this is an interesting match as Grappler is very competitive and this match actually goes to a draw. There is a funny moment here as they were supposed to show an inset promo with DWB & Stubbs celebrating beating up Bullet but in fact they showed a promo that was supposed to air the next week after Bullet got his revenge.

"White Lightning" Tim Horner vs. Private Pyle (9/18/88) Good win for Horner.

Willie B. Hert vs. The Count (10/2/88) Hert wins easily then cuts a promo afterwards before Ken Wayne shows up and wants to talk which leads a verbal altercation.

Detroit Demolition vs. Keith Steinborn (10/2/88) Squash.

Next we get a promo from Dr. Tom who won the Road to Birmingham.

Horner/Douglas/Lord Humongous vs Dirty White Boy/Ken Wayne/Nightmare Freddy

This is a strong 6 man work rate match. Horner is working with DWB going 100 mph. They are really clicking. Horner is amazing here. DWB was a great base for Horner's highspots. Douglas comes in and he looks great and is cutting a great pace. Wayne is a great foil for him in this setting. DWB cuts him off with a clothesline from the top rope and Douglas bumps to the outside. All 3 heels do a great job working him over and focusing on Douglas nuck. We get a hot tag and goes to a real fun finish. We get a post match where everyone is on the outside while Gilbert and Johnny Rich square. The post match puts this on as a low -end nomination.

Ken wayne vs Danny Davis

Nelson Royal is at commentary. This is a so so match. Color me dissapoiinted.


We get Davis pimping his hair match and a Ken Wayne retort.

We get an Eddie Gilbert interview where he turns him self babyface. This was really amazing and a slam dunk extra.

We get a short match between Jerry Stubbs and Dr. Tom Pritchard. The Dangerous Alliance attack Dr. Tom. This is extra material.

We get a great Dangerous Alliance interview where Gilbert is referred to a lame horse that needs to be shot. Nightmare Freddy walks off in disgust. I guess he's Doug Gilbert. Jerry Stubbs comes out and wants to join. They tell him to prove it.

In the next segment Jerry Stubbs attacks Doug Furnas with a coat pole. Mantell his opponent makes the save and we get a Mantellvs Pat Rose squash.
