Posted February 24, 201312 yr comment_5536733 This starts with a Garvin/Todd Morton match JIP. Next we get a promo by Street & Miss Linda with clips of the Garvin feud. Todd Morton offers his assistance to Street and we get a promo from Garvin to follow. Continental Heavyweight Title: "Lethal Weapon" Dennis Condrey © vs. "Nightmare" Danny Davis (8/13/89) Davis takes it to Condrey early using dropkicks to send him to the floor then uses his counter wrestling prowess to maintain the advantage. We get some fun matwork here with Davis being really solid on defense getting in and out of holds then coming back up and firing punches to work over Condrey. Condrey would use a headbutt to the gut and a backbreaker to turn the tide before chunking Davis to the floor. Here is where it gets interesting as Condrey goes to the floor and attacks Burrhead Jones who was keeping time at ringside which pissed off Cooley then he DDTed Davis on the concrete. Cooley goes to check on Davis who is now juicing but distracts the referee so Condrey could DDT Davis on the floor again. Davis is selling this like crazy trying to get back in the ring but Cooley pulls him away to save him. Condrey celebrates heavily in the ring then cuts a promo afterwards saying this is what happens when you try to take his title and this was a damn good angle. "Tennessee Stud" Robert Fuller vs. Continental Cat (8/13/89) Man I need to find out what song the Studs use here as the theme because it kicks ass. Cooley is out next talking about what happened with Condrey and Davis came out saying that Cooley cost him the match but saved his life. Davis thanked him and this was great. The Southern Boys (Steve Armstrong & Tracy Smothers) vs. Mike Davis & Lou Fabiano (8/13/89) Jerry Stubbs is on commentary and the Boys win easily with a promo to follow with Stubbs. Next we get a video for ICEMAN PARSONS!!!!!!! who was supposedly coming into the area. "Lethal Weapon" Dennis Condrey vs. Todd Morton (8/26/89) Morton gives Dennis a fight but Condrey would use a ref bump and a DDT to put Morton out. Cooley is on commentary here and Condrey baits him then grabs a chair from the floor but Cooley jumps in the ring and hits the bulldog then covers Dennis with Morton counting the pin. Good angle. Texas Tornado Steel Cage Match: "Exotic" Adrian Street & Miss Linda vs. "Beauty" Terry Garvin & The Beast (8/26/89) This is an interesting match to say the least. Garvin throws powder in the eyes of the faces and this is a war from the start. Street would take over and the faces would work over the heels until the original Beast (Mark Guleen) shows up attacking Todd Morton with bolt cutters and then jumps in the cage where he helps destroy the Street family. He bashes Linda's arm with the bolt cutters before bringing Morton in and they bash him. Morton is juicing heavily and this is wild. We get promos from everyone afterwards. Definite extra here. Jerry Stubbs vs. Mike Davis (8/26/89) Davis jumps Stubbs at the bell but Stubbs would come back until Davis cradled him using the tights but the referee saw this and stopped counting so Davis argues with him allowing Stubbs to cradle Davis with the tights to win. Cooley then cuts a promo about his match with Condrey the next week. Continental Tag Titles: The Southern Boys (Steve Armstrong & Tracy Smothers) © vs. "Gorgeous" Jimmy Golden & "Primetime" Brian Lee (8/26/89) Southern Boys look strong to start here sending the heels to the floor with Robert trying to regroup and this was really good stuff especially with Robert on commentary selling everything. Smothers would hit all turnbuckle trying to splash Lee in the corner and that gave the Studs a chance to take over. Smothers is fun here as the FIP taking a beating while having fun hope spots. Bruno & Sylvia would get involved forcing Steve to go over there but allowed Smothers to get double teamed. The fans are hot for Smothers trying to get the hot tag and Steve hits the ring like a house of fire before the 4-way brawl with Robert going nuts on commentary. Bruno gets nailed and as the Southern Boys go to finish Lee off the ref gets bumped allowing Robert to hit Steve in the neck with Bruno's crutch and the Lee gets the cover to win the titles. Southern Boys cut an angry promo afterwards. Very fun match here and this is a nomination.
November 3, 201311 yr comment_5570313 The only thing on the disc that really is disc worthy is Continental Tag Titles: The Southern Boys (Steve Armstrong & Tracy Smothers) © vs. "Gorgeous" Jimmy Golden & "Primetime" Brian Lee Man their is a contigent on the outside. We have Fuller,Bruno, and Sylvia. This tsrts off hot with a fast pace. the Southern Boys look great in their shine sequence. They are cutting a quick pace and looking sharp at everything they do. Golden especially bumps well for them and stooges to maximum effort. Smother attempts a splash into the corner and misses. Smothers is now fip and sells like a pro. The hope spots were well done and executed. The run toward the finish felt a little choppy and forced. Still a good match and a low-end nomination.
