NWA World Heavyweight Title: "Nature Boy" Ric Flair © vs. The Bullet (5/19/86)

Flair starts out very strong here but Bullet comes firing back and the crowd is hot for the action. The action is also fast and furious here as they are working totally for TV and not stalling house show action. Bullet gets numerous nearfalls and Flair is in trouble. Bullet gets a pin on Flair after a clothesline but Flair's foot was under the rope and then after that Bullet locked on the figure-four. Flair is in serious trouble now as the hold is in the middle of the ring as they go to commercial break then they come back with Bullet talking to Solie and they show what happened so this is going to have to be edited in. Bullet still has the hold locked in when El Fuego runs in for the DQ. Bullet fights 2-on-1 until Brad & Horner makes the save. This was a very fun Flair defense and is a solid nomination.

I watched this on you tube.

I liked the match, but felt it falls short of a nomination. They work this as a total sprint going move to move. Feels like if Flair and Bullet were working in WWE today. The most compelling part of the match was the Figure 4 because it gave the action time to breath. No one was able to get a long heat or shine segment in. So it had a your turn my turn feel even though it didn't. So I say no.
