Posted March 6, 201312 yr comment_5537955 "Exotic" Adrian Street vs. "Hustler" Rip Rogers (12/29/86) Street is on the warpath here just beating the piss out of Rogers in and out of the ring and even gets a kiss on the mouth before getting posted on the floor by Rip. Rip would go on the attack here but Street is in the zone here and takes it back to the floor where he goes back to kicking ass. Street would take it back to the ring where he locked on a sleeper but there is a ref bump and Miss Brenda would run in to spray Street in the eyes putting Rip on top but Miss Linda would run down and sprayed Brenda in the eyes then hit Rogers with something. Street then rolls on top to get the pinfall. As a match it was a short fun brawl but the angle was really good. Extra material. Southeastern Tag Titles: The Nightmares (Danny Davis & Ken Wayne) © vs. "Dirty White Boy" Tony Anthony & "Mr. Perfect" Jerry Stubbs (12/29/86) The heels jump the Nightmares at the bell and Davis gets worked over but he would get the tag to Wayne who was able to get control of DWB and Nightmares would use quick tags and double teams to keep him grounded then Chromedome would come in to get his punishment as well. A knee to the back of Davis from the apron by DWB would turn the tide here and Davis was again getting his ass kicked. Wayne would get the hot tag after a short FIP run and ran wild on the heels sparking a 4-way brawl. We would get a ref bump as the Nightmares are trying to finish off Stubbs with their double team finisher but as Wayne came off for his legdrop DWB just nailed him with a clothesline. Davis would pin Stubbs as DWB would pin Wayne and the ref counted them out. Stubbs was the legal man but Davis wasn't the legal man on his team but the referee gave the Nightmares the belts anyway although the heels would steal the belts. Kinda on the short side but the action here was really good and fast moving so I'll throw this up as a low-end nomination. Steel Cage Match: The New Guinea Headhunters vs. The Tennessee Stud & "Luscious" Robert Fuller (12/29/86) This is one of the most famous matches in Continental history so no matter how good it is this will be on the set. Stud's just pound on the Headhunters at the bell throwing them in the cage at will. Sullivan is on commentary here with Solie who is putting over how no one can get in or out of the cage while Sullivan is comparing the cage to a spiderweb that at times traps the spider who webbed it. Sullivan is being very cryptic about what is going to go down here while the guys are just beating on each other in the cage. The Headhunters rip up the ring canvas and reveal the 3rd HEADHUNTER making it 3-on-2. Sullivan is laughing maniacally while Solie is going nuts. The Studs are bleeding like crazy as the beatdown is going on and they would eventually pin Robert then ripped the mask off the Stud. I will leave it up to everyone else but this is a slam dunk on the set as either a match or an extra. Next we get clips of a lights out steel cage match from Knoxville between the Studs & Headhunters but the referee was Jimmy Golden wearing a wig and it ended up being a wild 6-way brawl. This is great stuff and a definite extra. (January 1987) Then we get clips of Landell & Headhunters beating on the Studs. (January 1987) Next we get clips of the cage rematch with Headhunters/Sullivan vs. Studs/Bullet and this is insanity as Knoxville promoter Bob Polk is getting his ass kicked as well by Sullivan which sees the debut of Doug Furnas who rips the door off the cage and cleans house. (January 1987) Then we get clips of Cooley/Chris Von Colt. (3/2/87) Next we get part of the awesome Fuller/Golden video. Solie then interviews with Landell & Prichard with their titles and clips of their wins. This is really fun with them doing commentary including Landell getting Prichard to describe the three things he couldn't give Hamilton which are the following.....a black eye, a fat lip, and a job. Continental Heavyweight Title: Tennessee Stud © vs. "Beautiful" Buddy Landell (2/28/87) This is from Chattanooga and Landell does commentary with Solie. The match is fun and short but the commentary here is just flat out awesome and Landell would win the title with a foreign object which he said just happened to fall out of Fuller's mask. This is a definite extra. Next we get a Knoxville news video about Doug Furnas and this is extra material. Then we get clips of Landell/Cooley where Landell has these various heels running out to attack Cooley before Scott Casey who is in the area makes the save. Extra material. (April 1987) Next we get clips of a Fuller/Golden vs. DWB/Stubbs match where The Grappler (Len Denton) interfered and this has spawned jealousy between Stubbs & Grappler for DWB's love. (5/11/87) "Dirty" Dutch Mantell vs. "Cowboy" Scott Casey (5/11/87) Casey pulls Dutch's shirt over his head and he starts laying in the shots but Dutch stands tall and goes toe-to-toe with him. Good back and forth action here until Casey gets caught in the ropes neck first ala Curt Hennig but Cooley would run down to break him free although Dutch doesn't care and beats them both down then whips them. Next we get clips of DWB/Stubbs vs. Fuller/Golden from 5/25/87 where the Grappler would again run down and this time he would hit Stubbs with his loaded boot causing DWB & Stubbs to lose their Southeastern Tag Titles. Stubbs would rip off Grappler's mask revealing Len Denton and they brawl while DWB tries to play peacekeeper. Stubbs would pin Denton getting the referee to count and DWB would finally snap and attacked Stubbs with his boot. They beat the shit out of Stubbs until the Nightmares run down to make the save. This is a definite extra. Then we get a taped promo from Stubbs who is all bandaged up who says that he is coming back wearing the mask of Mr. Olympia. Next we get clips of the Southern Street Fight between Olympia/DWB on 7/6/87. Then we get Furnas with Solie showing clips of him in powerlifting competitions. Extra material. Next we get the great Winner Takes It All video that Dutch wanted shown of him beating Jerry Lawler.
