Posted March 17, 201312 yr comment_5539324 This starts with a promo by Cooley and his feud with Dutch with clips. Shoobaby on a Pole Match: "Wildcat" Wendell Cooley vs. "Dirty" Dutch Mantell (6/29/87) Ron West is the special referee here since he got whipped by Dutch the previous week. Total brawl at the bell with both men going for the whip with Ron West hindering Dutch "unintentionally." There are lot of fun sequences involving the pole especially the crotch spots. The fans are molten hot for this as well which definitely helps it out. Dutch would lay Cooley out with a piledriver then went for the whip but Cooley selling neck and all stopped him. Cooley makes a fun comeback before Dutch runs into Ron West who just happened to fall on top of Dutch allowing Cooley to get the whip but Dutch would lay him out with a lariat. Dutch took the whip and used it but West took it from him and threatened to use it on Dutch but he ate a lariat as well. Dutch then whipped West and it's now basically a handicap match until Dutch runs outside where we got dueling whips until the locker room clears. Then we get promos afterwards. This was a fun segment and even with the crappy finish I think this goes on the block. Mr. Olympia vs. The Avenger (6/29/87) Avenger jumps Olympia so Olympia unmasks and destroys him. Next we get promos from Fuller & Golden with their video to follow. Then we get promos from Olympia & DWB who yells at DWG for looking at Solie. US Jr. Heavyweight Title: Scott Armstrong © vs. Dr. Tom Prichard (6/29/87) Bullet is on commentary here with Scott starting off strong but Doc would soon take the advantage and slowed down the pace. Mike Golden would run down and nailed Scott so Bullet would jump on him with a sleeper hold as Scott locked the sleeper on Dr. Tom. Jonathan Boyd would run down and he KOed Scott then turned to the Bullet where him & Golden would destroy him. The heels would then try to reinjure Scott's back before Bullet runs in with a steel chair. This was the birth of The Wild Bunch stable and we get promos afterwards. Next we get a taped promo with the Nightmares about their issue with Fuller & Golden. This has clips of Buddy Wayne cleaning house on the Studs and this is a definite extra. The Nightmares (Danny Davis & Ken Wayne) vs. The Bikers (6/29/87) No idea who these guys are but they are big ugly dudes who dominate early before Nightmares come back and win. Then we get promos from Studs & Nightmares. Next we get a promo from Dutch who wants more of Cooley. Solie starts the next show interviewing Scott Armstrong and we get Solie interviewing The Wild Bunch (Jonathan Boyd, Mike Golden, & Dr. Tom Prichard) in the locker room. Solie takes the US Jr. Heavyweight Title away from Golden per the Continental officials. Alabama Heavyweight Title: The Bullet vs. Jonathan Boyd (7/6/87) Bullet would get control early but Boyd would lock on an iron claw which almost put Bullet away but he fired back with punches to break free before the action would go to the floor. Bullet would lock on the sleeper which would bring out Mike Golden who attacked Bullet for the DQ. Dr. Tom would run out and it's 3-on-1 until Scott Armstrong and a guy in full camoflauge runs out attacking the heels unmasking to reveal Steve Armstrong. Dirty Dutch Mantell vs. Burrhead Jones (7/6/87) Dutchman coming out to Ghost Riders In The Sky is great. Total squash. Next we get clips of Dutch/Cooley from the week before in a Bullwhip on a Pole match with a promo by Dutch to follow. "Luscious" Robert Fuller & "Gorgeous" Jimmy Golden vs. John & Tim Hardy (7/6/87) These Hardy's damn sure ain't Matt & Jeff. Southern Street Fight: Mr. Olympia vs. "Dirty White Boy" Tony Anthony (7/6/87) Olympia attacks DWB in the entrance way but then he puts DWG in the way to cheapshot him. DWB would grab a crutch and nailed Olympia with it numerous times before taking it to the floor. Olympia would make a comeback and he would use the crutch himself to bust open DWB then pulled out a chain and used it to further open up the cut. DWB would fight back and threw Olympia into the referee then took off his boot but Olympia came flying off the top rope with a big cross body block to get the win. DWB used the boot though afterwards and cleaned Olympia's clock then ripped the mask up where he would open him up. The mask is completely ripped and DWB just beats Olympia bloody but Olympia wants more and more which DWB gives it to him. Olympia eventually gets some shots in but DWB was too much for him. The match itself was good enough but the brawling afterwards was great and puts this over the top as a solid nomination. This is followed by promos from DWB & Olympia. Then we get Furnas with Solie showing clips of him in powerlifting competitions. Extra material. Doug Furnas vs. "Golden Boy" Mike Golden (7/6/87) Golden has now cut his hair and slicked it back. Furnas coming out to Rocky Top in Birmingham is great. Furnas is still very green here but shows the flashes of how good he would become. Golden is solid here at working as a foil for Doug taking some big bumps before Dr. Tom would run out for the DQ. Jonathan Boyd would join the fray until Bullet & Scott Armstrong evened the odds. Solie starts the next show bringing out Buddy Wayne who is in a neckbrace after getting injured by the Studs a few weeks ago. Buddy cuts a great promo here before Cat Collins who is the ring announcer comes out and wants to present an award to the Nightmares. The Wild Bunch ("Warlock" Jonathan Boyd, Dr. Tom Prichard, & "Golden Boy" Mike Golden) vs. The Bullet, Scott & Steve Armstrong (7/13/87) The babyfaces are all in camoflauge here and this is quite the visual with the heels looking like OH SHIT. The faces start strong here taking it to the heels especially Dr. Tom and they go to a break in mid backdrop by Scott on Boyd which was weird as Gordon wasn't calling for the break. Then we come back with the teams cutting promos on each other. Someone fucked up somewhere. "Wildcat" Wendell Cooley vs. Akio Sato (7/13/87) Dutch is on commentary here and awesome. Sato is such a good worker as he is a really good bumper and brings some intense offense. Cooley is really good here too throwing some great punches and he is such a great babyface. We get an awkward spot with Cooley trying to bring Sato over the top into the referee but it didn't connect so he picked Sato up for a slam which connected and the fans totally didn't buy it. Cooley goes to check on the ref allowing Sato to throw salt in his eyes. The ref makes the 3 count but it's revealed that he used salt. This totally fell apart starting with the ref bump. Cooley cuts a fun blinded promo afterwards. "Gorgeous" Jimmy Golden vs. Jimmy Carter (7/13/87) Unfortunately this isn't the former President that gets squashed.
