Posted March 17, 201312 yr comment_5539325 Shoobaby on a Pole Match: "Wildcat" Wendell Cooley vs. "Dirty" Dutch Mantell (6/29/87) Ron West is the special referee here since he got whipped by Dutch the previous week. Total brawl at the bell with both men going for the whip with Ron West hindering Dutch "unintentionally." There are lot of fun sequences involving the pole especially the crotch spots. The fans are molten hot for this as well which definitely helps it out. Dutch would lay Cooley out with a piledriver then went for the whip but Cooley selling neck and all stopped him. Cooley makes a fun comeback before Dutch runs into Ron West who just happened to fall on top of Dutch allowing Cooley to get the whip but Dutch would lay him out with a lariat. Dutch took the whip and used it but West took it from him and threatened to use it on Dutch but he ate a lariat as well. Dutch then whipped West and it's now basically a handicap match until Dutch runs outside where we got dueling whips until the locker room clears. Then we get promos afterwards. This was a fun segment and even with the crappy finish I think this goes on the block.

We start with both guys tearing into each other. Their was a lot of nice attempts at going for the whip. Ron West was clearly favoring Cooley after the angle of Dutch whipping him. Super hot crowd makes this pretty entertaining.
