WWF World Heavyweight Title: Hulk Hogan © vs. "Macho Man" Randy Savage (6/27/86)

 

This is on the Hulkamania 2 Coliseum video but fuck I'll watch it here anyway. Savage attacks Hogan with his IC belt from behind and he batters Hogan while still wearing his headband and shades. Savage though gets preoccupied with Elizabeth and allows Hogan to come back and he teed off on Savage while wearing Savage's shades. Hogan takes it to the floor where he rams Savage shoulder first into the ringpost. Savage begs off back in the ring but Hogan nails him with the AXE BOMBAH then a backdrop which make the Japanese announcers get giddy. Hogan just batters Savage here even jackslapping him in the face while Savage is selling like crazy then Savage in a fit of desperation grabs Hogan by the trunks and sends him to the floor. Savage then comes off the top with his diving axehandle followed up by an elbow putting Hogan down. Savage eventually brings him back in the ring where he hits the big elbow off the top which gets a nearfall then the Hulk Up. Hogan makes the Hogan comeback with Savage even taking a Flair bump into the corner before eating the big boot/legdrop combo and he gets the win. Adonis dressed as a woman would come out and he helped Savage work over Hogan before he made his own comeback and cleaned house. This wasn't a long match only about 7 minutes but it was an all-action sprint and I'll push it forward as a low-end pick.

HULK HOGAN vs RANDY SAVAGE (06/27/1986; WWF Boston Garden; 00:14:24)

-          Macho attacks Savage and grabs the world title belt. Title belt from the top rope. Savage still in glasses and headband. Savage is a rabid animal, attacking and choking. He hits another ax handle from the top. Weird moment with Liz on the apron and Savage threatening her. Hogan comes from behind and beats up Savage. Hogan has the glasses on. Hogan uses Savage as a dart into the ring post. Inside, Hogan punishes Savage with a clothesline, punches and back suplex. Double choke hold and Liz on the apron again. Ref kicks her out and she is escorted away. Hogan in full control. Randy was supposed to get tied up but only arm hooked. Great save by Hogan who just bit the arm. Savage slings Hogan out and then knees him in the back. Hogan rammed in the barricade and it falls. Savage on top hits the elbow. Hogan hulks up… big boot, clothesline, leg drop, three count. After the match, Adrian Adonis comes out and they double team Hogan. Adonis in a crazy outfit., Hogan fights back, grabs Adrian’s wig and poses with it. Fun stuff but not a nomination.
