Caballeras contra Caballeras: Americo Rocca/Ringo Mendoza/Tony Salazar vs. Los Misioneros de la Muerte (Negro Navarro/El Signo/El Texano) (9/19/86)

This starts with lots of fun Misioneros triple team spots and just as fun selling from the tecnicos. They really loved working over the crotch area of Rocca who was selling like a champ. Ringo & Salazar would finally get the tecs going here and the tide turned with them taking the 2nd fall with some nifty pinfalls. Everyone looked good in the money fall with Salazar & Signo having a very fun exchange then Navarro taking a wild bump from the ring to the floor. Ringo hits a really sweet jumping DDT on Negro before Texano laid him out with an enzuigiri. Rocca & Texano would then have a fierce slap exchange before Texano accidentally fouled Rocca taking him down with the refs letting him slide. The stretch run had some desperation going on with everyone working a fast pace while Rocca & Texano mixes in a slugfest. Rocca gets the fall on Texano after a huracarana so Signo decides to hit him with a sweet tope suicida on the floor. Salazar then follows with a plancha on him while Ringo & Negro are in the ring trading nearfalls. Negro would get the Gory Especial but Ringo would counter into a wacky submission forcing Negro to submit. The rudos would get shaved afterwards and this was a damn good match. Solid nomination.

The double teams and crotch shot teaming from the Missionaries was awesome. Nasty submission to finish the first fall too. Really fun 2nd fall and I am just eating up the Missionaries shtick. The technicos are fine but this is the Missionaries show so far. Action packed third fall as these guys are going all out. Great "accidental" foul spot. If it really was an accident that would suck. I also loved the star spot with the block leading to the flapjack press. Great ending with the dives and planchas leasing to the last 2 guys standing. Mendoza has a sweet flying headbutt but the Missionary clothesline looked nasty but not particularly good. What a weird final fall with the pin leading to a strange submission. Some of the work was sloppy but this had so much energy and excitement to it. Tons of cool spots to point out and a sweet finish. The hair payoff only adds to the match. EASY NOMINATION.

Yeah this was great and may be the best MDM match we have footage of, although I am sure there are better matches out there. Technicos were a little bland but it is so much fun to watch MDM do their thing. I loved the final fall counter really unexpected and cool. I still haven't seen the great Navarro performance before his 50s, he was fine here, but Signo and Texano stood out more, and it is so weird that Navarro peaked when he was so old.
