Posted March 25, 201312 yr comment_5539913 "Hands of Stone" Ronnie Garvin & The Rock n Roll Express (Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton) vs. The Midnight Express ("Loverboy" Dennis Condrey & "Beautiful" Bobby Eaton) & Big Bubba Rogers (1/11/87) This is from Charlotte. Faces start strong here with Condrey & Eaton doing their jobs well of selling and bumping for them especially Eaton who is taking insane bumps from the ring to the floor. Morton hitting a running plancha from the apron to the floor sparking a wild 6-way brawl was great. Eaton would trip up Gibson on the floor which starts the heel control section and gets Bubba in the ring to use his high impact offense but he has some awkward moments here and kinda derails the match a little. Garvin comes in from the hot tag just throwing punches and it's great then Bubba eats a double dropkick and Garvin gets an O'Connor Roll on Condrey to get the win. Garvin gets his ass kicked afterwards by the heels. This was on the short side but really fun and I'm throwing it up as a low-end pick. Barry Windham vs. "Enforcer" Arn Anderson (1/11/87) These two had a match two days later that was on the Supertowns of the Superstation so I'm curious to see if this one is better. Arn jumps Windham at the bell but that fails as Barry sends him to the floor. Barry really works over Arn's left arm here early and while it's effective it's not necessarily exciting. Arn would catch Barry in the air and sloppily dropped him neck first on the top rope which gave him the chance to get the advantage. Arn would work over Barry setting up the spinebuster which he hits clean for a nearfall before Arn hits his trademark nuts on the knees spot out of the grounded knucklelock. Barry uses this to start his comeback and he fires away at Arn before hitting Tommy Young by mistake. Arn would hit a short powerslam then went over to Young complaining before Barry used an inside cradle to get the win. This was better than the Philadelphia match but still falls short of a nomination in my eyes. I guess maybe I expect too much from these two.
