Posted March 28, 201312 yr comment_5540118 National TV Title: "Wildfire" Tommy Rich © vs. Dennis Condrey (6/28/80) Rich is vacating the title here as he wants to focus on beating Harley Race for the NWA title and leaving for Memphis in a month. Condrey looks good here working over Rich who holds his own here keeping the challenger from getting any kind of advantage. Condrey would break through though and used his power advantage along with some cheapshots to get over on Rich. Dutch Mantell comes out as Tommy hits the Thesz Press for a nearfall. Tommy would then lock on the sleeper with Dutch going to the apron so Tommy throws Dennis into him then attacks Dutch himself. Condrey hits a backbreaker on Rich for a nearfall but as he tried for another Rich tucked and rolled to get the pin. Fun TV match and although on the short side a lot of the TBS matches were that way so it is what it is. I'm putting this on the block because I think it deserves another look.
