May 19, 201411 yr comment_5604014 Phil Hickerson / Dennis Condrey / Tojo Yamamoto story is one of the best and funniest rib stories of all time. I wouldn't necessarily agree with that...
May 19, 201411 yr comment_5604017 Are you suggesting that Condrey sort of raped Hickerson? No "sort of" if it happened to way Cornette said it did.
May 19, 201411 yr comment_5604018 Now you put it that way, I guess it's a lot more sinister. I think the manner in which Austin was laughing made me laugh too and I didn't think of it in that way.
May 19, 201411 yr comment_5604019 I'll admit, I'm in a rock and a hard place with a story like the Hickerson/Condrey/Tojo. When I heard the story I knew two things at the same time; 1) it was a bad thing and akin to rape, 2) I laughed mightily because I found it funny. Some of it probably boils down to the abilities of Cornette as a storyteller, and the fact that the story does come across as one guy fucking with another guy for comedic effect as opposed to any sinister goal. Still doesn't change that Condrey forced himself on Hickerson, and that does constitute rape. I guess this makes me a shit kicking heel, or terrible person depending on your point of view, because while I do recognize the wrongness of what went down I still find myself chuckling about the whole thing.
May 19, 201411 yr comment_5604029 I'll go full heel for it. Within the context of the story, the guys involved, and the business we're dealing with? I find it HO-LARIOUS. I don't care. Bring the heat.
May 19, 201411 yr comment_5604032 It's probably the most I've ever laughed at a rib story. That was my honest reaction.
May 19, 201411 yr comment_5604034 Within the context of the story, the guys involved, and the business we're dealing with? I find it HO-LARIOUS. The same here. The way Cornette tells it probably helps quite a bit, as was Austin totally cracking up. However, stories of guys like the Rockers drugging up and abusing girls, or Flair exposing himself to fly attendants and stuff like this, yeah, totally repulsive.
May 20, 201411 yr comment_5604066 So Austin really did four parts with Bischoff? I noted there were two on each of his feeds.
May 21, 201411 yr comment_5604135 I liked how the first 45 minutes of it was basically them talking about hunting. I have zero interest in hunting, but really enjoyed it.
May 21, 201411 yr comment_5604147 I liked how the first 45 minutes of it was basically them talking about hunting. I have zero interest in hunting, but really enjoyed it. I inched 45 minutes closer to death. Maybe if he was talking to Steve Blackman or someone, but not Bischoff.
May 21, 201411 yr comment_5604159 I surprisingly enjoyed the non-wrestling part as well. Austin is just such an easy listen and really facilitates great conversation no matter the guest or subject matter.
May 21, 201411 yr comment_5604193 I surprisingly enjoyed the non-wrestling part as well. Austin is just such an easy listen and really facilitates great conversation no matter the guest or subject matter. Could agree more. No interest in hunting, but Bisch and Austin kickin back with a beer or two makes easy listening. And makes me thirsty....
May 22, 201411 yr comment_5604309 FINALLY discovered this show thanks to youtube. Listened to the Bret and Cornette ones last night. Did Bret ever come back for a second episode as they talked about? Really enjoyed the rapport that the two had and would love to hear them break down their matches as they discussed. Cornette's was fascinating with the Sputnik Monroe stories from Memphis. And put me in the camp of finding the Condrey/Hickerson/Tojo story hilarious. My sinister side would love to see him have Russo on the program.
May 22, 201411 yr comment_5604338 I don't want Russo on the Austin show because it would humanize him. Russo cannot be humanized. He should remain the evil that fell upon wrestling.
May 23, 201411 yr comment_5604392 Does anyone know who got the job at WWF that Bischoff went for? It has to be Sean Mooney doesn't it?
May 23, 201411 yr comment_5604398 Didn't he try out after AWA went out of business, shortly before WCW picked him up? I haven't listened to the whole interview yet.
May 23, 201411 yr comment_5604408 What did he do for them? He's a name I've come across because of the scandals but didn't know (or just overlooked) he was any kind of on-air talent.
