Posted May 15, 201312 yr comment_5544736 This starts with clips of a Bunkhouse match between Dusty & Windham vs. Jake & Sullivan from Tampa on 12/7/82. Fun stuff. Next we get a promo by Dusty who wants a loser leaves town match with Sullivan and he signs the contract. Definite extra. (12/15/82) Cowboy Ron Bass, Charlie Cook, & Barry Windham vs. Kendo Nagasaki, Jake "The Snake" Roberts", & Kevin Sullivan (12/22/82) Some really good fast paced action here with lots of quick tags and no one keeping any kind of advantage. The match breaks down into a 6-way brawl and TV time runs out before the finish. I think if we had a finish this would be a nomination. Then we get a promo with Sullivan who is wearing chicken bones around his neck talking about driving Dusty out of Florida on Christmas night at the Bayfront. There are clips shown of this and it's a slam dunk extra. (12/29/82) Next we get JJ Dillon in Kansas City with Bob Geigel complaining about the Midnight Rider being Dusty Rhodes which Geigel said that if he could prove that's him then he would be suspended. Dillon & Sullivan then join forces with Solie and he brings back Leroy Brown to collect the bounty. Definite extra. (1/5/83) Then we get a promo with Dillon & Ric Flair talking about him collecting the bounty which for Flair is $50,000. More extra material. (1/26/83) Midnight Rider then comes out for his first appearance on TV for a promo and damn he sure sounds like Dusty Rhodes. Extra material. (1/26/83) Sullivan then cuts a promo with pink & blue hair upset about the Rider saying that he will cripple people every week until he unmasks. (1/26/83) Barry Windham vs. Jake "The Snake" Roberts (2/2/83) Windham is starting to come into his own here as a worker and this is a really good match as Jake is also coming into his own as a heel worker. Mosca & Sullivan show up at ringside and Sullivan whacks him with a steel chair for the DQ. Mosca starts slapping Windham on the floor before they walk off. Charlie Cook & "Freight Train" Rufus R. Jones vs. "Bad Bad" Leroy Brown & "King Kong" Angelo Mosca (1/26/83) Okay for what it was until the crap DQ finish and then we got a great headbutt exchange by Rufus & Leroy with both standing tall after each one because they are black and have hard heads. Next we get a promo by Jake & Sullivan again about Dusty who was at TV brawling with Sullivan outside the ring. (2/2/83) Then we get a wacky promo with Roddy Piper & Sullivan where he is recruited to join his crusade for Rider's mask. Extra material. (2/9/83) Cowboy Ron Bass vs. Kevin Sullivan (2/15/83) This is from a TV taping at Fort Homer Hesterly Armory in Tampa. Bass is wearing a cast on his right hand which was broken a while back. Bass has Sullivan beat before Mosca runs in for the DQ and along with Sullivan they destroy Bass with Sullivan bashing the hand with a steel chair. Next we get a promo from the Midnight Rider in his office talking about his stay in Florida and how he would be back when needed. He also talked about being the true NWA champ since he beat Flair in Miami on 2/9/83 but gave it up because he wouldn't unmask. Slam dunk extra. (2/16/83) Then we get Piper who was playing bagpipes in the ring giving Charlie Cook a piledriver on the floor. (2/15/83) Global Tag Titles: The Fabulous Kangaroos (Johnny Heffernan & "Bulldog" Don Kent) © vs. Terry Allen & The Midnight Rider (2/15/83) This is JIP and fun seeing pre-Magnum teaming with Rider. The faces win the titles even though Rider's suspension ends in a few days so he gives Allen his belt afterwards and tells him to find a partner to replace him. Cowboy Ron Bass vs. Jake "The Snake" Roberts (2/23/83) Bass dominates early but is caught using the cast by Bill Alfonso so he gets warned. Jake would soon come back and had Bass down on the mat but he tried climbing up the ropes and nearly fell over the top to the floor as he slipped which got the fans laughing. Bass then went back on the offensive and put him away with a elbow to win. Bass is then upset about Mosca & Sullivan being banned from TV and he wants them back. Mosca & Sullivan then return next with a promo saying that they are going to get revenge which happens next as they attack Windham after a squash before Bass runs them off. (2/23/83) Then we get another promo from Sullivan about Dusty and he warns of the Purple Haze coming. (3/9/83) Next we get a fuckin great promo from Dusty in a pool hall playing with a big man who is revealed as Blackjack Mulligan coming in to help The Family. Slam dunk extra. (3/23/83) Then we get a wild brawl with Mulligan & Mosca brawling in the building and out on the streets. Great stuff here and a definite extra. (4/13/83) Next we get a promo from the Windhams about their war with Mosca who then cuts a promo in retort. (4/13/83) Then we get clips of Flair/Dusty from Bayfront on 4/16/83 with Midnight Rider at ringside and then there were multiple ones that showed up during the match. Extra material. Next we get another brawl with Mulligan & Mosca this time with Frank Dusek getting involved. (4/20/83) Dillon is out next with his newest charge in Bobby Duncum who he is bringing in to team with Angelo Mosca. (4/27/83) Windham confronts Sullivan after a squash when he is surrounded by Mark Lewin but Dusty comes out to even the odds. Dusty is cutting a promo about this when Dillon comes out with Adrian Street and we have a staredown here. Extra material. (4/27/83) Global Tag Titles: Brad Armstrong & Cowboy Ron Bass © vs. "Big Bad" Bobby Duncum & "King Kong" Angelo Mosca (4/27/83) Bass is defending with Brad here because Terry Allen is injured. Even though we got two breaks here this was a really good TV match with both teams working hard especially the heels. Brad was great here taking punishment and Bass was really good too at being fired up along with juicing. Bill Alfonso got bumped to the floor and Brad ate a spike piledriver with Alfonso being thrown back in the ring to make the count. Terry comes up and tells him what happened so he reversed the decision for the DQ but would get attacked with his own crutches as revenge. This is a nomination. Then we get a promo with Dillon & Street who is wearing a rainbow afro where Dillon introduced Street's bodyguard in Mr. Elijah Akeem the former Leroy Brown. Extra material (6/1/83) Next we get a promo with Lewin & Sullivan about Dusty. Then we get clips of a Mulligan/Mosca barbed wire match from Orlando on 5/22/83 with Mosca narrating and a post match promo from Mulligan as they tried to break his claw hand. Next we get clips of the Dusty/Street match from Lakeland on 6/4/83 and Dusty was such a good rival for Street. Street cuts a lock of Dusty's hair and celebrates afterwards. Then we get a promo from Lewin & Sullivan whining about how the promotion treats him so Mike Graham comes out and a brawl is on with Graham fighting 2-on-1 until Dusty comes out but Lewin throws him out and puts him through the wall at ringside. Dusty & Graham are both beaten bloody until Mike cleans house with a chair. (6/15/83) Global Tag Titles: "Big Bad" Bobby Duncum & "King Kong" Angelo Mosca © vs. Cowboy Ron Bass & Barry Windham (6/15/83) Bass & Windham bought the contracts from Denny Brown & Jerry Grey to face the champs here. The faces were fun her on offense as they were blazing to start and then Windham was solid working FIP before the match broke down into a ref bump after an atomic drop by Bass on Mosca. They hit a spike piledriver on Bass with Alfonso looking on from the floor and he called for the DQ. Windham though hit a big missile dropkick off the top on Mosca. Next we get a promo from Mulligan who said that watermelon doesn't change if you are Leroy Brown or Elijah Akeem which was something else. Mulligan then narrates clips of his Texas Justice match with Mosca from Bayfront on 6/11/83. Then we get the big angle where Ron Bass turned on Dusty Rhodes as he was the special referee in the NWA title match between Dusty & Harley Race from Orlando on 6/19/83. Great promo here from Dusty with Bass showing up on the set telling him why he turned on him and it's because Dusty got all the glory while Bass got nothing. Bass slapped Dusty in the face after calling him Virgil Runnels numerous times which sent Dusty into a rage where he even went off on the fans who were making fun of the situation. This is a slam dunk extra. Brad Armstrong & Barry Windham vs. "Big Bad" Bobby Duncum & "King Kong" Angelo Mosca (6/22/83) Brad gets injured early on so Mulligan joins the fray and this is a wild brawl. Next we get a taped promo from Dusty & Mulligan in the cow pasture talking about the Bass turn and this is another slam dunk extra. (6/29/83) Mike Graham & Scott McGhee vs. "Big Bad" Bobby Duncum & "King Kong" Angelo Mosca (6/29/83) Short match with good fast paced action here that sees McGhee get a sunset flip pinfall on Duncum setting up a title match the next week in Tampa where they would win the titles.
