Posted July 3, 201312 yr comment_5549808 Greg "The Hammer" Valentine vs. Vinnie Valentino (2/23/83) This is JIP with Hammer winning easily, Dick Slater is out next for a promo with his newly won NWA World TV Title. Slater saying that he lives clean as he doesn't smoke or drink is great. Valentine joins him in gloating before Rotundo comes out wanting Slater to put his title on the line later which Slater accepts. Don Kernodle & Sgt. Slaughter vs. Dizzy Hogan & Frank Monte (2/23/83) Dizzy Hogan of course is the future Brutus Beefcake. After the match Jim Nelson runs out and attacks Kernodle & Slaughter before pulling Hogan & Monte out of the ring. Sweet Brown Sugar vs. Ricky Harris (2/23/83) Fairly easy win for Sugar. Next we get a great workout video for Steamer & Youngblood. Extra material. Then we get promos from Valentine, Humpderink, Slater, & Gang for the Richmond show on 3/18/ Jack Brisco vs. Red Dog Lane (2/23/83) Jerry Brisco & Paul Jones get into it on commentary for a bit. Jerry brings up how Jack beat Lane in amateurs in Laramie, Wyoming which was a cool touch. Good mat wrestling here. Next we get a promo from Kernodle & Slaughter about what happened earlier with Nelson followed up by Paul Jones about Brisco and Humperdink w/Gang about Valiant. Then we get a promo from Flair & Valentine together about their upcoming matches. This is good stuff as both men who are heels talk about their match like they are two babyfaces facing each other. Extra material. Next we get promos from Steamer, Valiant, Slater, Humperdink, & Gang about the show in Richmond on 3/18. Mike Rotundo is out next telling Gary Hart to get lost because he was the reason he lost his title to Slater. NWA World TV Title: "Mr. Unpredictable" Dick Slater © vs. Mike Rotundo (2/23/83) Decent back and forth action here with Rotundo taking it to Slater before Slater cradles him to win. Bugsy & Valiant come out next talking about their battles with Humperdink's Army followed up by Rotundo complaining about the last match and Steamer/Youngblood talking about Kernodle/Slaughter with Nelson.
